Pretty night blooming wild flowers

Hi all,

Our apple orchard is teeming with foot high yellow night blooming flowers of some kind. Right after sunset these flowers open up in rapid succesion, each flower taking only 10 seconds to fully open. A very astonishing transformation to watch! Anyone know what variety they might be? They seem to a biennial as there were none last year. We live in an oak woodland right on the edge of the San Pedro Martir national park (5000' elevation).

cheers

Mike

Could be an evening primrose. There are several kinds, and they have in common that crepuscular blooming.

That must be really something to watch!
