Looks like somebody dumped a double shot of expresso into the Geritol at the Senior Citizens Center free lunch day

bajamigo - 7-20-2009 at 07:52 AM

You guys are right to take pot shots at those senior folk. After all, they only rehearsed for several hours over a period of weeks prior to the filming. The night before, they were asked to wait for the restaurant to close, and then do a final rehearsal. You may be interested in knowing that the restaurant closed at 1 a.m., and rehearsal went to 3 a.m. Unlike you fine fellows, they missed their bedcheck at the old folks' home. Oh, and by the way, they did it in the interest of promoting a return of tourism to Baja. Silly old SOBs.

Looks like they were having a really good time and doing something positive to try and promote tourism in Baja---a rather refreshing thing considering all the negative stuff around here that discourages tourism.

Thanks for the background information----maybe next time they can all be in rocking chairs on a front porch---do you think that might be acceptable----naw, older is always an easy target for some.

wow, that Joe Francis...

Mexray - 7-21-2009 at 05:16 PM

...will do anything to promote his 'Seniors Gone Wild' videos on late night TV...

Doug/Vamonos - 7-21-2009 at 05:42 PM

Damn cruise ships.

Seniors Gone Wild?

Gypsy Jan - 7-21-2009 at 08:09 PM

Considering the changing demographics, perhaps this is the next great video (UTube) sensation.

At least it is a lot more entertaining than the incessant "Viva Viagra", Cialis. et. al.. advertising.

I doubt it. Probably more interested in seeing themselves in a video.

Most expats could care less about tourism. At best, they view it as a necessary evil resulting in more places for them to eat and drink...at places like la Fonda that cater mainly to gringos. If the half dozen or so 'gringo' bars/restaurants shut down most of these folks wouldn't venture out of their campos.

Except to go to the States and shop.

I'd bet that someone closely associated with the real estate industry thought this up.

fishbuck - 7-21-2009 at 11:24 PM

I was thinking they did it for the free Tequilla.

Joe Francis Or Joe Franklin

Bajahowodd - 7-21-2009 at 11:28 PM

Whatever. That video is certainly not the La Fonda of my past. But, as was posted, if they can keep revenue flowing in this economy, more power to them.

You have to lower your line of vision. That top you looked for was probably somewhere below her waist.

Dave, I happen to know almost all of those old expats, and also the person who organized the whole thing--so I do know what I'm talking about. They all did it to promote tourism, and to help the economy. Most of these people spend a great deal of their time working to help their Mexican neighbors. We help keep children in school, we support orphanages, and when it comes to helping local businesses, we try to do that too. So please, try not to be so sarcastic! They worked really hard at this for weeks, and La Fonda is a source of income for many in Santa Anita, so the more tourism we have here, the better it is for our community!

Skeet/Loreto - 7-24-2009 at 02:50 PM

cathart:
Thank you for what all of you people are doing.

Great Dance. Most of these "Youngsters" do not understand "Giving" and being invloved with their Neighbors. If more people all over Baja would do as you folks do , it would be a better place.

So just take those Negatives and keep on doing and having Fun with the Good mexicano People.

Well, one could look at it this way.

We are making things easy and keeping peace in the family for the future. When we go, the arrangements will be easy and if there is nothing left, there will be no family fights.

So, live, spend, live, spend and then instead of your survivors fighting with each other over your estate, they can be angry with you for not leaving an estate, and you won't care.

It is perfectly shameful, isn't it.:lol:
