Hey Nomads, can anyone recommend a hotel South of Guerrero Negro. We can stay in a hotel or sleep in our camper, so hotel or camp ground will do. I
thought I saw a large hotel in Vizcaino, or we could stop in San Ignacio. We are trying to stay there at night and blast through the hot desert South
(Muleje, etc.) during the wee hours of the morning. Maybe San Ignacio would be quieter? Is there an air conditioned hotel there?
Priorities are safety, quiet, clean.... Thanks!

Toward the north end of the Vizcaino, on the east side of the street is Hotel Olivia---by the bus station--very basic but good. Also close to
Marthia's (sp)restaurant which is very good.
Toward the south end of the town on the west side is the fancier Kadakaaman which also has a small, but good restaurant.
If you need gas when in Vizcaino, I suggest using the old station at the north end of town instead of the new station at the south end of town.
Have fun!
Diane

bajachris, San Ignacio is a very interesting town. Has gas, AC , and well worth
visiting. Send pictures.shari - 7-22-2009 at 12:44 PM
I second both hotels in Vizcaino but they are NOT quiet...they are on the highway...you pretty much have to have AC these days in san ignacio
too...way too hot to sleep...but problem is that the AC is so noisy that it drowns out any traffic noise...really sucks!..even worse than traffic
noise.
What you could do is camp at Don Chongs at the entrance to san ignacio....turn right at the whale skeleton and it is a block down on the left...you
can camp in the palms and dive in the river every few minutes to cool off...lots of mosquitos at night so close up your tent but it's better than a
noisy air conditioned room anywhere.

Mulege is well worth visiting. It'll make you happier!Bajahowodd - 7-22-2009 at 04:18 PM
Maybe not so much in the middle of summer. Too many folks leave for the summer and businesses close, including some good restaraunts. As for the San
Ignacio idea, You can get A/C in several places. I know I'll take a hit on this recommendation, but the Desert Inn is actually a good place to stop
and it will be quiet. Just don't think about eating there. Ricardo's is my first choice for dining. Just too bad, he hasn't mastered the basics as far
as how to run a hotel.msteve1014 - 7-22-2009 at 04:30 PM
I would stay in G.N. It's not that far from Vizcaino or San Ignacio. It will be much more comfortable this time of year and you have a lot more
choices on where to stay or eat. Leave early, it's a nice, easy drive.tripledigitken - 7-22-2009 at 04:35 PM

If you haven't been there try Campo Renee. Great camping, clean and hot showers. Good food and beautiful beaches. You might not want to leave! Surfing
close by.
