Does anyone have one of these and use it in Baja? I recently spent 15 days on the beach of San Basillio. We would go into Loreto every 4-5 days for
supplies. I was lamenting to myself the lack of news and thinking that perhaps a Kindle that would automatically uploaded a subspcription to a
newspaper would be great.
I would not have to take time to hang out in a Internet room, I could turn on the kindle, and have it download as I took care of business. Read the
paper back at the beach.
Does anyone have one and use it in Baja?

I have a Kindle 1 and love it. If you are in the US you can downloard directly to it on Whispernet. I can't do that in La Paz so I download to my
computer and then copy the file to the Kindle. (USB connection) Very fast very easy. I think one would have to do the same in Loreto, but not being
there, that's just my assumption.
Because of this we read newspapers on the computer, but I would think that when you go on the internet for business that yes, you could also download
your newspaper and then take about 15 seconds to put it onto the Kindle to take to the beach. You have capability to manage your books and newspapers
on the Amazon site directing them to your computer or to your Kindle.

Just fine. The technology is "electronic paper" (don't ask me more, I never cared). It's close to being like an ordinary book. You can't read it in
the dark....shouldn't be reading in the dark anyway.

I have a Sony ebook Reader, the alternative to the Kindle. eBooks and eBook readers are great. A couple of nights ago I finished a book, "The Looming
Tower" and within 15 minutes I had picked out another book and downloaded it for $10, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", just to balance things
out.
Also, I have a Project Gutenberg DVD with over 17,500 titles on it, all free, all legal.

The Sony eBook reader works perfectly for me. I've never used a Kindle.
Get one!! Either kind.

Hey thanks for this lady. I was wondering if the whispernet worked in Baja.
Your idea sounds like a good one. steve
