well it looks like tomorrow may be a loooong day, weather delays are a bummer now I'll be keeping an eye on the weather all night. my iPhone is my alarm clock and I can see the sat images on it too (I know I'm a nerd). at this point I can see the clouds on the east side of carmen we'll probably get a good lightning show tonight and I sure hope it helps to cool us off for awhile.

Thanks for the tip, Russ. You would never know it, Humidity still at 29% over here.

Russ - 8-6-2009 at 08:09 PM

Hook, The guy that runs the net over there has some good sources and does an update on any possible storm events. Announces it on 16 then moves over to 72 to explain what's happening.
Pam, His last report said the number of lightning strikes has deminished and the cloud formation towards carmen aren't developing into what causes the big wind. Subject to change of course.

flyfishinPam - 8-6-2009 at 08:15 PM

were watching lightning east of Carmen right now
it's noticibly more humid and the real telltale sign is the ants are active. That indicates rain.

Russ - 8-6-2009 at 08:32 PM

Hope if you get rain and wind it's short lived and beneficial. No damage. Interesting about the ants.

jahImpala3 - 8-7-2009 at 05:04 AM

Guess you will have to start watching your ants at Chivato Russ.

Hook - 8-7-2009 at 05:58 AM

Nothing ever happened over here. Lightning remained distant.

Humidity did come up, though. 86/61% at 6AM MST.

flyfishinPam - 8-7-2009 at 06:00 AM

No rain here boats went out ok despite the ants. Very humid though.

Nothing happening here in Nopolo at all. Clearing up
And Pam, if the ants activities are an indication of rain to come, we should live in a monsoon area, since I'm up to my neck in active ants.
Maybe someone can give me a way to get rid of them ??

ED,

You take a time share salesman, stake him out in the sun, cover him in honey and let the ants have at it. May not get rid of the ants but at least one pest would be gone..

We were awakened by the sound of howling wind around 1:00 am. There was quite a light show going on with lightning and the sea was angry. The power went out in Buena Vista and Los Barriles at around 1:30 so we went out on the deck to watch the show and stay cool. Power came back on a few hours later.

We had a little rain and there are some big waves this morning. We were greeted by a beautiful sunrise and the sea seems to be laying down as the day progresses......dt

Around here these squalls are called Tribunadas. This one put my cabana on the ground. I think I'll be able to put it back up. I knew the ocean was really warming up around here. I could feel it a couple days ago and my dog, Storm was the tip off. We recently put in a mini split AC unit in the bedroom. The remote is the thermostat and I put the little plastic cradle for it on the wall about eye level. I went to town shopping and by mistake locked Storm in the house. When I got back the bedroom was artic, Storm was asleep on my bed, the remote was covered with drool and teethmarks, the temp showed 63º F. This next time I'll mount it way up where I have to get on my tip toes to reach it. This will be the 3rd move. I could put it in the drawer but that's the first place he would look.

Jorge,
this shows you have the wrong kind of dog. Next time try a wienerdog/dachshund and you won't have that problem.
