This one is dirt cheap. We have found it at the Walmart in HMO as well as our main wine shop in HMO.
It's frome the Valle de Uco in the Mendoza region of Argentina. Finca de Celia. It's the Furia Reservado. That's what to look for on the label. And
it's a Chard.
60 pesos or under over here.
Very little oak, so if you're in to the CA/Aussie style with lots of fruit and oak, steer clear.

Thanks Hook - will look that up. What's your odds of a SoCal freeway series this October?
Martyman - 8-18-2009 at 08:18 AM
No SoCal series. Sorry Santiago. The dodgers will blow it in the playoffs. Probably the first round.

I will worry about Angel pitching but there is no really good team in the AL so we have a decent chance. Would like to face Boston and exact some
revenge. But they may not even make it. Their pitching is worse than ours and they are looking like the very old team that they are.
I think the Dodgers look, far and away, like the most balanced team in the NL, but I watch so few NL games.

I find with the warm weather I 've been drinking more white wine then red. I love the Vernaccia de San Gimignano from Italy.
Go Giants!

It's always bothered me that even after shipping and duty, there are so many decent Chilean and Australian wines that are cheaper than either US or
Mexican wines. That said, the Dodgers has shown a propensity for not being able to hit good pitching, and a number of clubs they may face in the
playoffs have at least two really good pitchers.

Sorry Hook - I took this opportunity to inject some sorely needed baseball chatter onto the board.
I tried to find this wine yesterday in WalMart but could not. Will try BevMo today and report back.
Marty: listen very carefully:
"Giants Drool, Dodgers Rule"
Commit this to memory as it will serve you well over the years.
I will admit, PacBell Park is very nice with outstanding hotdogs and a good selection of craft beers. A bit chilly.

Is this it?
Hook - 8-19-2009 at 02:57 PM
Well, we have been drinking the 07 and now the 08 so the label is different. The label is white that we are buying and it has the word "reservado"
under the word Furia. So, that also may account for the different label.
No worries about the baseball talk. This forum makes about as much sense as any to talk baseball on Nomads. Certainly dont want to go OT.
The Angels middle relief is really coming around, especially Jepsen. I am worrying less and less about them even though they were the major source of
problems early on.
Fuentes is Fuentes. He will create nervousness constantly but will usually get the job done. No different than K-rod, so I'm used to that in a closer.
I dont know what to think about our starters. Lackey is solid. Weaver looks like his arm is getting fatigued. Santana has trouble commanding his
pitches but at least his velocity is there. I think he will end up being our #2, going into the playoffs. None of the other starters matter in the
playoffs. We should be able to make three work.
But the greatest pleasure; WE FINALLY HAVE HITTING!!!! Last night our box score ended with ALL NINE PLAYERS HITTING .300 OR BETTER!!!!! I dont know if
I have ever seen that in 47 years of looking at box scores. Well, maybe 30 years or so since the DH was initiated.
