Quick thank you

A quick thanks to all who responded to my request for help on tijuana rentals. My roommate and I spent most of the day in Playas, with a short side trip to Rosarito, to check out the rental scene and were pleasantly surprised by the availability of units in the areas we checked. Surpirsingly, most of the long list of telephone numbers came from banners on buildings or flyers posted on phone poles. The area near the bull ring seems to be our #1 choice so far.
A close second is a newer building near the monestary, but we have so many choices from the beach area, we may not bother.

It was VERY quiet there today. I think we were the only gingos on the beach. I guess thrusday is not too big for tourists, even during the summer.

Good luck!!

I hope you find what you are looking for.

If you need any help moving around in Tijuana, Playas or Rosarito let me know, I would glad to lend a hand.

Not yet. This move is going to happen in 2005, probably in February. I am tied here in El Cajon right now by a DSL contract of all things, which would cost over $200 to break, so I will stay for now. Still need to do some more fesability survey work, which will take a few more trips. This mainly involves commute times to and from my current job, which include weekends for me and my roommate, getting to know TJ streets better, so I can get to where I am going and avoid the crowds (did some of that today running to and from Rosarito and Playas). Today was an anomaly as far as I was concerned. TOO easy. No crowds, less than 15 minutes to get across at San Ysidro. Granted, this was at 7 in the evening, but our driving is going to be done late at night. Got to know where you are and where you are going, as navigating by landmark is not a good idea at night. Might order a map from maps.com, as they have a good detailed TJ street map that isn't too much. Nothing much available here in El Cajon to fill that need. Not even Borders can get one.

Try Map Centre, they are near the Sports Arena I believe. They have a slogan: "If it's not on our maps, it's lost!" http://www.mapcentre.com and/or http://www.mapworld.com which used to be in Encinitas but is closed after Map Centre bought them.

Map world. the other link does nothing. Thanks for the tip. I would rather buy it here than wait for it in the mail.

edit: although the sign on the building says map centere. In Scandia Plaza, by my favorite golf shop, Pro Golf.
