I spent half today being frustrated dealing with Western Union trying to wire $1500 to Mexico today. WU web site would not let me wire this money
and when talking to their help desk they informed me that I could not do this and that I had to go to a Western Union office. Pain in the butt. I've
wired money before via their website but couldn't today and in fact was told I never could????
Also, the guy I was sending the money to was in a Western Union site in Colonia Viscante Guerrero (near San Quintin) but it was not in Western Union's
Computer so I selected San Quintin. Also, even though I was told that he only needed his name, it turned out he needed the transfer number as well as
his ID. This what you guys are experiencing? Anyone know how wide the area is that the recipient can request the money is? In the US, it is 50
miles from the named city.

In my experience, you need to specify A location for the money to be shipped. (To a specific WU office.)
You also need to specify the person to pick up and their address.
The person must have the WU # and ID to pick up the funds.
I've had good luck with WU transfers if I follow their rules.
Problems is; who knows the rules ??

we've assisted with several
go to a waetern union in usa
get the transfer number
transfer it to the western union in mex
the receiver picks it up with the transfer number and id
its very easy and sometimes a lower cost than a BANK TRANSFER

we used to use WU all the time but this last year things have not been working well at all...I think they have a new system that isnt as dependable as
the old one...i havent been able to pick up a wire here in months...although i can get it in Vizcaino, GN, sta.rosalia etc. As long as the recipient
has the wire # and ID, they can pick it up in any WU office.
