Finally got around to transferring the photos.
Went down with a friend and his wife from Escondido, my sister, her husband and their two kids, and met up with Mexitron and his wife.
Weather was great, usually cool foggy mornings, warm days in the 80's, water temps in the mid to upper 60's. Fishing was the worst I have seen it as
the roads are getting better, and bringing more people. Only caught 3 Halibut that were over 21”.
We did learn from the equivalent of Mexican Fish and Game who stopped by in a caravan of 4 vehicles including a truck full of soldiers that they are
going to continue their complete ban on lobster fishing among this section of coast for the "season" like they did last year to help the population
recover.
Me kayak surfing, the only surfing I can do .

Those were very nice pictures, Love the night ones.Russ - 8-23-2009 at 01:47 PM
Nice report and some great photos too. Sorry to hear your spot has lost some of it's charm. So many of our old haunts are like that. I guess we just
have to make the most of it though. The coyote thing is pretty scary. Over here we haven't had any rain so the rabbit population is way low and the
coyotes are really fearless. They're coming into our yards during the day and several cats are missing. And..... pass over a bowl of "Mexitron’s
world famous bouillabaisse" looks gooood!Barry A. - 8-23-2009 at 01:55 PM
GREAT PHOTOS------thank you.
------one night about 15 years ago, camping for the night near Catavina, a coyote tried to jump into the Callen Camper we were sleeping in with the
back hatch wide open------his claws scratching on the tail gate was the thing that woke us up (thank God) but he/she was NOT easily scared
away-----those crafty beasts do get hungry!!!!
----but I have NEVER heard of one climbing on top of the truck------now that IS spooky!!!!

The settings on my camera (Panasonic Lumix TZ5) allow for a 15, 30 or 60 second exposure. Most of those were done with the 60 second setting. I
believe the typical maximum 4-8 second setting on most cameras will not come out quite as well, but try it. Just be sure to have it on a tripod or
hood of a vehicle.David K - 8-24-2009 at 07:46 AM
Thanks!jahImpala3 - 8-24-2009 at 07:53 AM

What kinda of camera?Taco de Baja - 9-24-2009 at 02:47 PM
It's a Panasonic Lumix TZ5 with a Leica 10x optical lens (28mm-280mm equiv). At a lower MP setting it will go out to 16x optical (448mm optical
equiv.). Combined with the 4x digital we’re talking almost an 1800mm equivalent.
Their latest update are the Lumix ZS1 and ZS3 which have a 12x optical zoom lens (25mm-300mm equiv). the ZS3 will record full HD video and allow you
to zoom in and out while recording...but it's pricey.
All have the "starry night" setting for 15, 30, and 60 sec exposures.wessongroup - 9-24-2009 at 06:35 PM
Hey, thanks much... really super shots.. including the "dead soliders" Oh, that does bring back some thoughts about falling into a catus once at not
knowing until the morning... but, I will stick to cameras and YOUR great trip and for sharing your photos, that BBQ halibut with bacon and rosemary...
man, now that sounds really different, but really good. Never had that before...

Halibut with bacon and fresh rosemarry twigs is the best....
You can also rub it with a stick of butter (to keep it from sticking to the grill basket, of course ) wessongroup - 9-25-2009 at 07:39 AM
Your killing me, ... even at this time in the morning!!!!
I'm going to give it a try... just love halibut, as for bacon.. forget it, I'm a hog, the rosemarry twigs (have had pork chops with rosemarry) which
added a very unique flavor to the meat.. butter too, oh my... good food, good friends, in the Baja
