La Bamba 50's Diner in Rosarito

BajaMarby - 9-1-2009 at 06:28 AM

I wanted to post here again, in case no one happened to read to the END of the discussion thread on the other La Bamba post.

La Bamba has changed a LOT in just over 2 years. It was sold to new owners in June 2007 and they are great folks. They are Americans, with an American business sense. The place is sparkling clean, the staff is small and very good, the owners are the head cook and head waiter. Everything is homemade, right down to the pork breakfast sausage. Last year they won 3 awards int he "Mexico Living" Best of the Baja. They have great desserts, too - all homemade by Susan, the owner.

I was shocked when I read the old thread, but realized that it was before the place was sold. You REALLY need to check it out if you haven't been in a couple of years. It's so great, my favorite place in Rosarito. They have daily specials, a big e-mail list that they send out all of the specials to, and all the specials are 100% homemade - never a frozen meatball or jar of sauce.

It's a shame that there are people who haven't been back because of the old owners. They're long gone. I knew them, didn't care for them, and they really took these new owners for a ride. Rosarito is better off without them.

The new folks, William and Susan, are great, and a big help to their local community as well. (Yes, they are friends of mine, but I never lie - not even for my friends. If I hated the place, I simply wouldn't write anything.) I love their place so much that I think it's a shame if anyone visits Rosarito and misses this place. They ahve a website, too - www.labambarosarito.com
Check it out!

Hi Guys , Mike and I love this place. William and Susan, the new owners are super neat people. The food fantastic.Try the daily specials they are always great. They also helped make our fundraiser a success with the many things they donated to the raffle prizes and they came here in person to support us. They also support the rest of the community , I know they just gave a big lunch for the lifeguards. They make home made desserts that are fabulous and they usually have a sugar free dessert on the menu also. Please, please give them another try. You won't be disappointed,k:bounce:
