Don Chano's?

Cypress - 9-6-2009 at 01:30 PM

Was wondering about how Don Chano's came out? The pictures posted are only "long shots". Have seen a multitude of damage pictures from the Oasis, a hundred + or so, right down to the micro variety. :o Anybody been able to get on the north side of the river?:?:

I too would like to see some pictures of Don Chano's. I will be heading down in a day or two. Would be nice to know what to expect. If anyone knows how I can contact Manuel that would be a plus. I need to know if there is anything in particular he needs. Brian

Manuel's email: manuel_romero25@yahoo.com.mx
phone:615-153-07-20

Have no idea if either is operational.

We own the house directly below Manuels. Have been trying to contact him but no succes yet. The # in KurtG's post is his home phone and is still out. He called Clay and Margarite and left his sister Amelia's phone # to leave messages. I tried it and got a recorded message like a message box. Left a message but have not heard back. # is 011-52-1-614-153-6444. I think it is a cell. If anyone gets through please ask him about the three new casitas of Rodrigo and friends and post it here. We will pass on any new info. Looks real bad

011-52-615-153-0644 phone number of Amelia and her son Jesus/Chuy

Its their home phone. Jesus is 19 years old and will speak a bit of English if requested. To find their house in Mulege go through town towards the lighthouse, turn left at Saul's Market; they live in the grey brick house, last in the lane on the left as you face the cemetery, school is on right.

Elisa's brother Manuel works at the bus station which is now by the arch at the entrance to town. He speaks English.

(Thanks Mike for the phone number change; I've corrected it)

If that's a terrestrial phone (not cell, and it looks like a house phone), omit the '1' after the '52.'
You add the 1 after 52 for calling a Mexican cell phone from the States.

I changed the number but still cannot get through. I am gathering contact info for all of us in Huerta Don Chano. We could try to use this to coordinate info and relief efforts, ie, CC everyone on the list when there is new info or relief possibilities(someone heading down). I will only do this through my e-mail address so as not to put peoples info out to the public. Please, only those with direct involvement respond. I will post new news here as it comes in.

Estrella, Hope your home made out OK. Lived in the little stone casa next door to Clay and Margarite. They are very hard workers and put their hearts into their casa. Manuel and his family are great folks and hard workers. They have some very good tenants/neighbors. Would like to see some pictures.
