Will diesel be available past Santa Rosalia after Sept. 25th??

We are travelling from San Felipe to Cabo San Jose, beginning on September 25th. I am wondering if anyone knows if gas AND diesel are available in the areas with road damage... Gracias amigos

There should be both diesel and gasoline the length of the peninsula.

The road is passable for large tank trucks and semi's and there does not appear to be a shortage of either.

Thanks Losfrailes! We are doing some diving in Punto Chivato, then off to La Paz and Cabo San Jose.... We are praying for all the folks who suffered down there and will bring supplies. Dios ley bendiga amigo! BajaRhino

If you are heading south from San Felipe, and not driving over to Bahia de los Angeles... you may have a long stretch between Pemex stations that are open:

~55 miles south of San Felipe there is a new station at Puertecitos (you need to leave the highway and detour through town).

100 miles south of San Felipe is a Pemex station at Gonzaga Bay (it is on the highway (dirt)... they close down to eat lunch at Alfonsina's and are not 100% sure to always have gas. If not, check just beyond at Rancho Grande for gas from their pump.

167 miles south of San Felipe is the junction to Bahia de los Angeles where gas can be purchased from cans sold off the back of a truck. (there are 2 Pemex stations at Bahia de los Angeles, 41 miles away)

226 miles south of San Felipe is the Pemex at Villa Jesus Maria.

253 miles south of San Felipe is the town of Guerrero Negro (2 miles west of the highway/ 2 miles south of the state border). There are stations in town... the one at the state border is/ was closed.

Never pass an opportunity to get gas if you are below half full!

One gas station we never depend on is the one on the highway by San Ignacio----seems to run out of gas ---never for too long, but could be overnight.
