When returning from a trip to Baja...

do you have a tendancy to place used toilet paper in the wastebasket? This is a tangental quandry to another posting.

When you've been in-country long enough, you learn to use corn cobs. Dry 'em out on a hot rock and use 'em again....till they're smooth as a piano lid.

Dennis, did you get that from Martha Stewart's web site?

No, but I tend to be confused for a day or two about which faucets are the hot and cold water.

Or thinking the guy ahead of you has his left blinker on, advising you to pass him.

Remember the "brown side down rule' and you will be ok north of the border.

When you tell someone 'it will be done tomorrow', do you mean tomorrow or is it just that you mean 'not today'?

The family looks at me in a funny way...

...as I pour a cold Pacifico over my corn flakes in the morning...

Don't need a passport to get money at the bank.

we hate arriving in the big city (san quintin) and don't even get me started on ensenada....... and the border!!!

Getting gas in the States and actually putting away my cash, using a credit card that gives me either frequent flier miles or a 5% cash back. Oh yeah, not pulling in front of a pump, running out of the vehicle to make sure the pump is set at zero and actually paying for amount that I get. Damn, I can’t wait to get back to Mejiko to put with all of these minor nuances!

In the states I do still stand there and wonder where the person is that will wash my windshield for a propina though.

we miss the GREEN(of Oregon), along with the tremendous variety of flowers, bushes, trees.....
(but I'm glad to get away from the Oregon winter)

dtbushpilot - 9-19-2009 at 04:19 PM

I catch myself saying "gracias" to waitresses, cashiers etc. for a few days.....dt

Bajahowodd - 9-19-2009 at 05:15 PM

I guess San Quintin has finally made it. It's a big city!:D

MikeLikeBaja - 9-19-2009 at 05:55 PM

I catch my self saying hello or waving to startled people when I am in the States.
