After a mega drenching on saturday afternoon I wanted to see if the arroyos were passable up in the Sierra in BCS and if any of my favorite swimming holes had water after a long dry summer. The greenery was stunning and I snapped a few shots on the gorgeous and cool final day of summer.

the road into the Sierra was not too bad. Behind those clouds is "Picacho" which never made an appearance for me.

wow, I cant believe how lush it all looks....sure wish we'd have gotten a bit of rain from Jimena. We went pitayando yesterday and everything is just so dry and the cactus are all skinny...only pingpong ball size pithayas at the moment...aother couple weeks to wait I guess....they must be bursting there!

They were bursting indeed and I actually made it back to the house with one for the very first time, as opposed to scarfing them all down as i picked them. I would guess tennis ball size!
