Anyone have any input on where I can get one or two, 20-foot shipping containers in Loreto? I plan to use them for storage and they seem to be
somewhat vandal proof. I will be down to Loreto toward the end of October for a couple of weeks and would love to talk to someone who has them.
Any ideas?Dianamo - 10-5-2009 at 08:15 AM
Because of the port, have you looked in LaPaz? I don't know if they receive anything in shipping containers there.Howard - 10-5-2009 at 06:08 PM
Seeing as I still work up in the States, ( 2 1/2 years left and counting) I have not had the time to go to LaPaz and look around. Same goes for Cabo,
just do not have the time.
Three or Four months ago I saw a bunch of the containers behind the new hotel next to Domingo's steak house in Loreto and was hoping someone had some
input before I come down in 3 weeks.
Thank for your reply,

Howard, there is a guy behind the ice house with a dozen or so 20' containers. He wants $250USD/mo rent either on his lot or yours. I think he may
be soft on the price. Here's his phone number, speaks passable English. 613 104-5887.
We'll be down in mid Oct as well, hope to see you then.

I agree, this is way too much. I think only two of the containers are rented, but he is the only game in town if that's what you want. He will also
move it to your property - for a price.

Has anybody talked to him about selling rather than renting?
No more containers for me!

I have un-officially been scolded by some of the local homeowners that the containers would be a blight in the neighborhood. As I promised them and
in order to keep peace amongst my neighbors, I am no longer looking for shipping containers for my lots in town.
However, I did find some, so if anyone’s is still looking, I will give you the information of the person who is renting/selling them.
As far as my neighbors are concerned, I suppose my temporary use of the containers would be far more offensive to them than their piles of building
crap was to me when they were building. Don't get me wrong, I like the neighbors, but now that they have built, I guess they feel their poop no longer
stinks and they are better than me. I will go have a cold Pacifico at happy hour and contimplate my stink level.drzura - 11-7-2009 at 07:45 AM
Hello Howard. I have a lot up in San Lucas Cove and am interested in your contact for the cargo containers. Are they the 20' or 40' containers, and
do you know the price??

I am being mere conduit in this situation. If you would like, I will go by the place and get their phone # for you. This in no way is a personal
recommendation but on the other hand, I have no reason to steer you away from them. I do not know them personally. Is this enough of a personal
disclaimer? I have a reputation to uphold even if it a dubious one!
They are located in Loreto.
I went to his lot and he had around 10 - 20 footers. He appeared to have welded on a special compartment to put your lock on so the lock could not be
cut.
Here is what he told me on the phone.
$150 a month. $100 to deliver and pick up. I think he also said that if you pay for 10 month in advance you get 2 months free. I did not ask him how
far he would deliver, as I was interested in Loreto. I did ask who was responsible for any damages, such as if someone damaged it trying to break in
and he said I would be. He also said to outright purchase it that it would be $5,500.
Do you still want me to go by and ger their phone #?drzura - 11-7-2009 at 12:13 PM
Thanks for the info Howard. No need to get the phone number etc. from the fella, you gave me enough info.
