Yesterday about 1PM six white ranger type pick up trucks passed me on the other side of the road going north toward mexicali. The trucks had cages
over the beds and were full of dogs. I'm wondering if they were enroute to Mexicali to be
euthanized. After speaking with locals this week I've been told that San Felipe has had a big problem with strays.
Some one please tell me that the dogs I saw where enroute to a pound for sterilization and then to be put up fpr adoption.
Thanks I'm gulable and hopeful.DENNIS - 10-17-2009 at 01:18 PM

One can only hope that's the case since euthanization down here involves electricity. Not a pleasent thought.sancho - 10-17-2009 at 01:21 PM
Mexicalli Animal Control on occasion comes
to SF, attemting to capture dogs without collars,
more than likely the dogs were taken to Mexicalli
to be uthanized, there is/was an Aminal Rescue
group run by some gringos in Sf that
took all dogs, cared for and put them up
for adoption, most Mexican towns have
a population of homeless dogs
the Sf site, sanfelipe.com.mx sometimes
has infoBajaNuts - 10-17-2009 at 06:37 PM
there's the ZAPP project...
Zero Additional PUPulation Project....they have an eBy store, sell shoes, fix dogs...
Do not know if they are involved at all in the above mentioned incident....meme - 10-18-2009 at 08:49 AM
ZAPP doesnt like it but it happens. many of these animals are homeless ,sick & full of disease that causes people many illnesses.Especially
children playing with stray dogs. These animals live from garbage cans. dumps, begging etc. This is not a good situation. Everyone hates to see
Mexicali come to collect them as we all know where they are going, but it must be done as these are street dogs mostly that no one cares for. Why do
they exist? Because people do not & many cannot afford to have thier dogs fixed so its a vicious round of more & more puppies coming into this
world & the story goes on.
