His/her head is not yet real red, and the beak is just beginning to turn white---adulthood is just around the corner,
Here he is just kicking back in the palm tree----so Baja.

Wonderful Diane! Your bird photography is spectacular. ++Ken++danaeb - 10-19-2009 at 08:18 PM
How do you find them without disturbing them? Are you a 'bird whisperer'?
Thank you for sharing your passion with us.DianaT - 10-19-2009 at 08:35 PM
Thanks very much to both of you.
I do talk to them, but I am not sure they are listening.
When we are here, we see them almost every day. I so appreciate how they clean the beach, thus I have become fascinated with them. The more I watch
and the more I read and learn about them, the more I think they are just beautiful unique creatures with such an important role in the nature.
And they are so picked on with so many thinking they are ugly.Desertsurfergal - 10-19-2009 at 08:52 PM
Diane...what more can I say, your bird photos are amazing!!! I hope to meet up with you on our travels to Baja and go bird watching.

Maybe when it's a little older it can get a higher perch in that palm and avoid the backdroppings.DianaT - 10-19-2009 at 09:05 PM

I thought about cloning those out, but it seems every vulture around here has them----
Desertsurfergal, enjoy your upcoming trip and enjoy watching the birds!

I only get to my house in La Paz every couple of months for a long weekends, so I'm reduced to luring our locals with sweets, mostly orange halves.
My favorites are cactus wrens for their outlandish behaviour. They are so gregarious.
I think you had one interested in a tomato. Maybe I'll try tomatoes when I'm there this weekend.duke62 - 10-19-2009 at 11:47 PM

Thanks---they are fun to watch. They have such a wide range, but Baja is one of the places they stay all year----smart birds.
