Aguilas de Mexicali

tunaeater - 10-24-2009 at 12:03 AM

Just got back from the Aguilas baseball game in MXL. They played los Mayos's from Navajoa. What a great time, we sat 4 rows back from home plate and had full bar and food service. Thanks to my buddy Sano for hooking me up with the tickets. We still spent 800 pesos on beer and snacky, snacks. Nachos, sunflower seeds, chips, tacos, etc. The kids had a blast and it was for sure the most excellent times...A plus because the Aguilas won in 10 innings..Oh yeah it's Mexico so they don't stop selling beer in the 7th inning hahahaha.....Nachos and TKT light all night...

Viva los Aguilas!

I agree - those Mexican Pacific Leauge games remind of how spring training games used to be in the US - real economical - and the players hustle. If you're lucky you can even catch a fight in the stands there at the nido.

btw - here's a joke for your friend san - he's probably already heard - a ver :

Fulano 1 - Oye wey - Que tal el clima alli en Mexicali.

Fulano 2 - Pos sano wey - muy sano...

Fulano 1 - como wey????

Fulano 2 - Si wey - es un sano-vabich wey.

Saludos man - glad you had a good time.

He was born there, seems nobody knows exactly when. I can't find any mention of his playing for Navajoa.
He was sure fun to watch.

Someone told me he's still playing Mexican ball. If so, I'd like to try him.

Didn't he recently buy a team, or part of one, down here?

I remember seeing him pitching once, I think it was a play off game. He missed the "pitchout" signal from the catcher and threw it straight down the middle. Of course the catcher wasn't there and the ball hit the umpire in the huevos. Funniest thing I've ever seen in baseball.....dt
