After over 2 years of working on this project, things are moving quickly now that Juan is off the rock pile and onto the tuna pile.
Our favorite builders "Manos Frios" put the roof on this week and poured the floors today...it is always amazing to watch them work...mexican
technology at it's best! Even the Titanic got into the act today.
the end is in sight...of phase 1 anyway...next week, the bathroom plumbing, wiring, tile and bed slabs go in.
when fishing finishes...juan will start the patio arches and laja floor around it...whew...it's gonna be sweet when it's done!

Looks great Shari! I'll bet Juan has to be happy to be done with his part....at least for now.
shari - 10-24-2009 at 10:21 AM
thanks zac....Juan is just itching to work his magic on the grouting...gusaniando which is what really makes it look cool. I sure will be glad to see
all the rock piles go...tired of tripping over em!

Shari , those "rocks" are the start of your rock garden . It will look great when you have it completed !!!!
shari - 10-24-2009 at 07:52 PM
the remaining rocks are for the rock arch patio in phase II after fishing season.

I love the rock we have available to use in construction down here and I am really having a lot of fun with it at our place. Juan really does nice

there is light at the end of the tunnel after all. We now have the bathroom finished, doors and windows in, new tinaco goes up tomorrow and plumbing
hooked up
Juan is just putting the finishing touches on the rock....gusaniando (worming) then I will varnish it all.
After over 2 years, it's finally nearly done.
the next phase will be the arches over laja rock patio...then we will start our sunken living room and office on the blowhole side of the
house....whew!
Nice Build!

Shari, I'm studying the map to determine how to get down there. Someday I will come!

Nice... be sure to get good mattresses! We 'old people' remember the motels with good mattresses!

Hi Shari and Juan, Things are looking good! Rock walls are slow and tedious to build but worth the hassle in the long run- less money to build and
maintain, especially near the Ocean. What do you call your B and B? Next time thru I'll bring you a metal art sign. Take care and watch-out for the
big swells. I'm back in the Sierra mountains for awhile and am anticipating 6- 10 feet of snow over the next week or so. On a side note: now that
you have some fire hose and some brass: is there a water truck in town with a pump to supply water? Do you guys need a fire pump? Take care and have
a great new year, Rock

Looking Fantastic!!! Juan and Shari do wonderful work and make my visits fantastic experiences. The wave photos are also stunning. How do the waves
play out on the south side of town for boogie boarding?
shari - 1-16-2010 at 07:36 AM
while waves explode over our rocks on this side, the bay side looks deceivingly calm. There are some nice small waves for chicken boogie boarders like
me and enough to flip your kayak if you arent careful on the landing....just ask grmpb!!!
There is still a gorgeous 10' swell but no wind today so we are gonna do a family fish today and go get some yellowtail to smoke...we'll see how lucky
sirenita is.
