homeowners insurance?

astrobaja - 11-9-2009 at 01:14 PM

Hi all,

We belong to the Discover Baja club, and got a notice a while back saying that they are offering homeowners insurance for properties owned in Baja. Are there better alternatives than Discover Baja for this?

Not an expert here. But one thing that appears to stand out is that Discover Baja would appear to be offering coverage by only one company GE Seguros. I would imagine that a Mexico based insurance broker would have more variety of companies to choose from. Can't hurt to compare prices.

Hey Terry.... Where is her office? Where is Fracc. Mision? She's the one who sells one day states insurance.

Welllllllllll, I can take you there, but I can't describe it.

She is near the Ley's on north Reforma then make a left, go through the vado then make another left. I will be down Nov 20th....maybe we can go exploring, I have to renew my homeowners with her.

DENNIS - 11-9-2009 at 02:35 PM

OK...Thanks. I could just call her but, that wouldn't be any fun.

Is this insurance only for Mexican plated cars or do US ones qualify also?? Always have trouble getting insurance in Ca. when going up for short visits.

It's supposed to be US plated cars. If you don't call, I'll let you know as soon as I find out about it.

The lady is Canadian, so I'm told. No misunderstandings.

I just finished getting my homeowners policy through Elena Bretts. Did it all by E-mail. THis Lady can get the job done! I am totally impressed. I'm at the stage now where she sends in the info and when she receives the policy she'll bus it to me and I'll send her the payment but until then I'm covered. Thanks bajaguy

No problem, Russ, that is what this board is all about!!!!
