Wow - anyone else see this? Call for UN Peacekeepers in Mexico

Yeah, I saw that. It won't happen as it would be a concession by Mexico that it has lost sovereignty over parts of its territory.

Funny

Dave - 11-12-2009 at 03:38 PM

I'd expect the lifespan of a U.N. peacekeeper in Juarez to be about 30 seconds.

Send them all.

Woooosh - 11-12-2009 at 04:12 PM

If I lived in Juarez I would request it too- just to make the political step toward officially declaring Mexico a failed state. Cuidad Juarez has the highest murder rate of any city on the planet.

If Teo kicks it up another notch here (and he is starting to) - it may be wise for Tijuana to request UN Peacekeepers too. No one trusts the Mexican Army to fix the problem here or there. The longer they stay it place- the worse they look.

Bajahowodd - 11-12-2009 at 05:02 PM

If I lived in Juarez, I wouldn't. Vaya.

DENNIS - 11-12-2009 at 05:19 PM

Blackwater would be a better choice. All they want to do is kill and that's what this situation needs more of. Not peacekeepers.
This place is turning into a clone of the Middle East.

Bajahowodd - 11-12-2009 at 05:39 PM

Or maybe vice versa.

U.N. and Peace (or piece ?)

MrBillM - 12-19-2009 at 05:37 PM

The problem for any area where they send in U.N. Personnel is the increase in the Rape Incidents.

gnukid - 12-20-2009 at 09:37 AM

The rape charges won't go away. Of course it's too much work to actually read the news. UN Rape is generally covered daily everywhere but US TV.

"It has become a tragic inevitability that whenever international peacekeepers are sent to bring law and order to a war torn country, a vast and exploitative sex industry, allegedly follows close behind." BBC

Of course.

Now, was that aggression merited? Or productive? :?:

Larry, you made the post questoning the well known facts about UN peacekeepers sex exploitation of women? Now you are targeting me for pointing out your incedulity to well known sex exploitation? Aha!

You are too savvy to not either know about the UN or to have done a search on documentation of "UN Rape" yourself? I provided sources crossing all political spectrums. So which is it? Naivete or denial of the facts or promotion of disinformation, Larry? Please plead naivete or what are we to think? Of course you aren't naive.

So what is your point? You are minsinformed? A defender of UN Rapists and Sex Exploitation or you are picking a fight for some purpose other than informing Baja people of the obvious concern we should all have for UN Peacekeeprs coming to Baja under the direction of Dyccorp/Haliburton/KBR/XE/Blackwater, a problem that is proliferating today and expanding with more than 300,000 UN Contractors working as UN peacekeeprs today and growing fast, all the while decalring another UNESCO Biosphere and demands for UN Peacekeerpers here?

Let me ask you directly, Are you for or against "UN PEACEKEEPER SEX EXPLOITATION OF BAJA"?

Bajahowodd - 12-20-2009 at 01:47 PM

Rape and sexual exploitation are repugnant. That said, in my opinion, gnu has actually hit upon something that may be a greater threat to civilization as we know it. I refer to the outsourcing of dirty work to highly paid mercenaries, resulting in obscene profits for a few companies. It allows the UN or the US, or whomever to more or less wash their hands of the dirty stuff, and ever increasingly, war, whether righteous or by choice, amounts to little more than writing a check when the invoice arrives in the mail.

gnukid - 12-20-2009 at 01:53 PM

I do have a problem. The ongoing exploitation of women is offensive as is the denial, and yes I think its important to speak out and act out against UN Rape and those who act to support it with misinformation.

Please take a moment to look into the problem with UN peacekeeper mission and US Aid associated with sex exploitation which continue without reprecussions worldwide. Be aware there are many people who deny the well reported problem and it persists.

Al Franken is pushing some legislation to protect UN Contractors but falls short of protection of citizens.

As an aside, Franken, who was only recently seated, after a contentious election which he apparently won by like 3 votes, conducts himself like he was born to be there. I've been greatly impressed by him.

Friday, BBC reported on studies and interviews that pin-point that at least 30% of US women serving in the middle east are raped.

A Practical Solution?

One 17 year old female in a platoon of 60? Tempting fate? Or was what that other female mentioned that since there are no prostitutes, there's an insidious plan to "service the servicemen"? (In a war that didn't even need to be fought. If we had had the draft, this war would have never happened, or would have been over very quickly. No nation building crap.)

In a perfect world, there would be safeguards. And there would be real punishment. But, in the short term, should there be some way to prevent the opportunity? As in not deplying females into such venues? Or would there then be gender discrimination issues?

One bit of advice is just don't allow your daughter to volunteer for the service.

It's an awful situation and one which will be paid for for years to come with tremendous psychological cost.

gnukid - 12-20-2009 at 04:00 PM

Larry,

Being uninformed is never an excuse.

You have the tools and skills, it would take less than second to verify facts?

Increasingly its apparent that Nomad Ignorance of the World around them combined with Absolute Arrogance is a significant leading cause for Nomads support of the world-wide US backed corruption.

I hereby declare a moratorium on Nomad's Nonsense and request that Nomads research and read on subject matter and cite references with their Political Posts.

ELINVESTIG8R - 12-20-2009 at 04:13 PM

Mexico needs more human and electronic intelligence and a hell of a lot more troops in the field than they have now so they can act on the intelligence gathered. They sure as hell do not need the U.N.

Request denied

Before a member can make a motion or address the assembly, it is necessary that he obtain the floor.

Yours is in need of cleaning and a wax wacs job.

I'm never surprised when a Liberal turns out to be uniformed. But, It doesn't seem to stop them from expounding on everything in the Universe

Rape seems to be about the only thing that the U.N. has figured out how to do. I haven't seen any evidence that their presence or Peacekeeping has ever done any good.

If there ever is a Nuke detonated in the U.S. as some here have theorized on, let's hope it's in the U.N. building with all aboard.

Idle hands

It's not their fault. U.N. troops really have nothing better to do.

Filled my OOPS quota for the Month.

Wish they would wear Uniforms, though. It would make Culling easier. Unlike Nancy Pelosi and some others, their Vile nature isn't always apparent until they open their mouths.

Yes its clear that commercials and advertising is always manipulative, contains subliminal messaging, PAC button pushing and its quite possibly something quite bad for our ability to see and perceive reality and make decisions.

No one I know watches TV anymore. No one I know even has cable or a TV in their house. Its quite bad for you, as evidenced here.
