Tommy's story is bizarre & unlike anything ever seen or heard.
In 1962, the first lesson for 8 yr old Tommy from Father Divine was that Divine was not God - and that Tommy was to be good and kind to all - to take
care of everyone as brothers and sisters especially the elderly and to be a voice for those that have none. Tommy has since lived his life treating
everyone with dignity & respect.
After Father Divine died September 1965, Mother Divine set in motion her agenda. The details are available in Tommy's book.
The tv interview edit took out the 'build-up' discussion about "the money" .. After receiving tens of millions of dollars for the sale of The Divine
Lorraine and Divine Tracy hotels which never belonged to her to begin with, the proceed funds are still in question. They have tax exempt - not for
profit status as a "Church" but 'they' do not allow anyone to attend their services without invitation. In 2004 Writer/Producer Ruth Weisberg
www.ruthweisberg was un-invited to a banquet because she wrote a story which referenced MD as Canadian Edna Ritchings - her name prior to becoming MD.
Another interesting historical connection: Tommy was recently contacted by a man (works for the United Nations) whose great grandmother was the head
chef in the Helen Keller household .. this mans aunt joined Divines Movement in Harlem .. moved to Philly when FD did .. was the organ player at all
banquets .. and taught Tommy to play. They had a wonderful relationship as she encouraged Tommys music interest and natural talent as did Father
Divine which led to Tommys early music career.
Living legends Kenny Gamble and Patti LaBelle recorded the song "I Am An American" that Gamble first heard many years ago at a Father Divine banquet -
It was released fittingly this year it on Veterans Day.

Lori and Tommy Garcia own/run Cabo Magic sport fishing.
They are Nomads who have stepped up with donations and more each time the folks of Baja Sur have needed it.

Being in biz in CSL for the past 15 yrs has been a wonderful opportunity for Tommy to connect with/to his paternal blood line and put to good use
what he learned from Father Divine.
Things will only get better in terms of what he/we will be able to do for those around him/us as times goes on.
