The 'trucks' (as in Trophy Trucks or all racer cars?)... The fastest race cars/ trucks do about 50 mph average time... The first will start about
10:30 this morning, 673 miles/50 mph=13.5 hrs... so 11:30pm tonight and on into Saturday morning for the fastest finishers. The m/c classes will be
coming in a few hours earlier than the cars, as they begin starting 4 hours sooner than the first truck.

anyone? anyone? Buehler?David K - 11-20-2009 at 07:57 AM
Mike, the Weatherman is online... I have been listening to him and his lady helper on the air and various checkpoints and rescuepeople checking in...
hear when the first bike took off at 6:30 PST... Then someone held the mike key down (button pusher), some yahoos in Yuma talking about a balloon race
with profanity and won't get off the frequency and the typical Spanish speakers on the same frequency... uggh!
Wild Bill hasn't been online yet... that I have heard.Cyanide41 - 11-20-2009 at 07:59 AM

Just popped back home for lunch... Sorry Curt, I have no idea why only some of the bikes are equiped with tracking devices or are showing up on the
LIVE map... Race-Dezert.com has a forum, perhaps ask there?David K - 11-20-2009 at 01:15 PM
Lots of action on Weatherman Radio...
On the tracking map, SCORE helicopters and rescue units have trackers to watch... Speed and location given. Copter 2 is doing 122 mph just ahead of
the first Trophy Truck (#2 Pete Sohren). Tim Herbst (#19) and Robby Gorden (#77) are fighting for third place at the moment...

Andy has 1 truck and 2 trackers.David K - 11-20-2009 at 10:57 PM
Andy is getting near the beach, south of Erendira... and Robby Gordon is still behind about 15 miles at Hwy. 1 (south of San Vicente).
Thanks Edguero for explaing the two 'trucks' on the screen being one truck with two trackers!Edguero - 11-20-2009 at 11:03 PM
Yeah it has been confusing lots of peopleDavid K - 11-20-2009 at 11:06 PM
Robby is still in the pits, and about to lose his 2nd place position as other Trophy Trucks are coming out of the mountains.
While being shorter than typical Baja 1000s, the rougher conditions are really eating up the race cars today... many breakdowns...David K - 11-20-2009 at 11:11 PM
Okay, Robby is back in the race, but Rick Johnson is in 2nd position... Young Andy McMillin is way in the lead, now going through Erendira at 10:10pm.
How about our Carlsbad guy Boris Said leading the Baja Challenge class.Packoderm - 11-20-2009 at 11:22 PM
The video doesn't work too well.David K - 11-20-2009 at 11:30 PM
Well, Andy McMillin is just 100 miles from the finish, and in the lead by over 10 miles from second position Rick Johnson... Roger Norman is in 3rd,
Robby is in 4th.
I am crashing... see you all in the morning!LaTijereta - 11-21-2009 at 06:30 AM

Curt
The motocycles and atvs were not required by SCORE to carrry IRC tracking devices..Only recorders were mounted on them for the race to be checked
later.
The two bikes you are seeing were sponsored by BFG tires, and they paid extra to track them for the media.
In the past they lost a lot of these devices on the bikes, so this was SCORE's decesion.David K - 11-21-2009 at 06:52 AM
Good Morning Kris!
I just looked at the tracking map and see some Class 11 cars passing by BajaLou's place (near San Felipe at 5:51am)... and some Trophy Trucks still
running. Must have been a hard race!

Thanks guys it was so much fun at work yesterday. Kept the sight on my computer and looked at it to see where everyone was. Got home and did the
same...couldn't make it to the end..almost though.
Thanks again for the links....David K - 11-21-2009 at 07:59 AM
Yah, I wish the Internet connection or those web sites were more consistant... Heard the Weatherman on and off, but was good when it was on... Saw
some live video at the finish line, but not always... Oh well... If I REALLY wanted to see it, and could, I would have gone! Was working in Vista and
Carlsbad instead... and it is good to have work!
NOTE: The race is running right now, and for most is far from being over!
