Hello I am new here. I was wondering if someone could post some photo directions getting thru the mexacali border crossing and getting on highway 5.
Saw something similar for the TJ crossing. Thank you. Great site by the way, we love the pics! Planning a trip to SF but it has been about 15 years

There are many signs pointing the way to San Felipe, Tijuana or San Luis as you drive through Mexicali.
When you cross at Mexicali, follow the train tracks... which are in the center of the 6 lane street you want to be on that heads southeast from the
border... Stay on that same street for 5 miles through town, following the San Felipe signs.
5 miles from the border is the fork where Hwy. 2 to San Luis goes left and Hwy. 5 for San Felipe goes right.... OVER the TRAIN TRACKS. It is 120 miles
south from there. The last gasoline is at La Puerta, about 20 miles from Mexicali until San Felipe area.

thanks CB and David K. can't wait to roll on down. Probably 1st week next May. Rueben's campground is the last place we stayed at. I understand the

Hardly anyone stays at Rueben's RV Park anymore. Stay next door at Kiki's: http://www.kiki.com.mx/
We stayed there several Winters. Very clean. Right on the beach. Walk to town.
The restaurant at Rueben's used to be good. Now it's hardly ever open.

Calexico East Crossing into Mexicali. After you go through Mexican Customs continue through the crossing area to the main avenue. Turn right, go about
a mile or so to Calzada Gomez Morin. Turn left onto that street and go several miles until you see a SONY factory on your right and a tall Kenworth
sign on your left. Turn left at the Kenworth sign, that's Hwy 5 to San Felipe. But, by May who knows where the construction and street closures will
be.

Mexicali Downtown (west) is so easy, and a straight drive through town... Also, the east crossing requires drivers go several miles extra east if they

Until they decide they need to repave, build a new street or dig a tunnel under another street. Urban renewal is the byword sometimes in Mexicali.
