We are moving to our house in La Paz late January. We have folks at the door already. For those who we are excited to see at the door, we would like
to have them down when whale watching is the best.
So, in the La Paz area, how long does the whale season last and when is it the best?
My hope is that in the future I'll be answering the questions instead of asking them.

Feb. and March are always good. You should get a Panga and go out into the Sea, better views.
Of Course it is good at that time to go to Lopes Mateos, and they could use your Dollars right now.
Virginia and i kept records when we lived at Loreto. Max Count on Whales for us in one year was 48. All Months of the year were included.

you have to realize that seeing whales anywhere in the sea of Cortez is a matter of luck. Living in Loreto, I have seen many over the years, either
looking for them or when out fishing. Going to one of the lagoons on the Pacific side at the right time of year much quarantees you many sightings and
even very close encounters. My point: Having visitors for a week, you may spend every day on the water and never see one. Mag Bay, san Ignacio and

Gotta agree with Skeet about Lopez Mateos/ Mag Bay. From La Paz, you are little more than a two and a half hour drive. And, yes, they were really

Well said; meetings are mostly by chance.
Only one time did we get into a Feeding Frensey right at Pt. Lobos. Even the Mesicano Fisherman were excited as the Whales where coming out of the
Water with their Mouths open and full of Sardines.
What a Sight.
