Hello everyone my name is Loye and Im 23 yr college student located in So. Pasadena. Im planned on heading down to Baja for the week of New Years. So
far Im thinking of renting a small place in either southern San Felipe area or Puertocitos,but camping may also be a possibility(are winds going to be
a problem. I plan on fishing and diving while Im down there. Corvina are the best! Ive been to Gonzaga(Pt. Final,Catavina,Rosartio,San Felipe. But I
have a question. Does any one have any rec's on a small place i could rent out in the area for a weekly rental. So far Ive only found one place in
Puertocitos, but still looking. Also hows the new years celebration down there. Anyways I appreciate the help, and cant wait to get out of this
concrete cage of LA.

I dont think that diving is any good in San Felipe, but it probably is closer to Puertecitos or Gonzoga. I am not sure about the fishing in either
place.

Well, last year was the last of Teina & Lou's Turkey Feasts, so that won't be a option this hear. 13 years was great and thanks for everyone that
attended each year.

Have you thought about maybe traveling a bit further south and visiting Bahia de Los Angeles?
It has what you're looking for re lodging, diving, fishing and a town celebration on New Year's eve.

If you go to San Felipe stay out of "Fandangos" The cook rubs the hamburger patties on his armpits just prior to slapping them on the grill.
He says it adds flavor but it just groses me out and tastes nasty.
Should have posted this one under fine dinning huh?

Paulina's idea is worth considering... If you have a week, there is more to do in the Bahia de los Angeles area... and the water is better for diving
with more clarity, the islands, etc. San Felipe to Puertecitos is murkey, sandy bottom with extreme tides. Mant places to eat/ stay and a heck of a
giant New Years Eve party!!! Live band, dancing under the stars... From L.A. go down I-5/ 805 to Tijuana then south to Bahia de los Angeles, 8 hours/
400 miles from the border, all paved. Lot's of site-seeing in the region, as well (if the water is too cold or rough to dive/fish)... museum, old

You don't need to get too far south of Puertecitos to get into good Corvina grounds and a good chunk of it is paved now. Silver krocs seem to work
best day in and day out on the back side of a rising tide in shallow water...red scampi/plastics also can catch fire but the Triggers use them as chew
toys. Winds always a possibility but I have spent Xmas week camping there many times with spectacular weather.

Thanks everyone for the input,but I just talked to a friend and thankfully he has a connection down in BOLA very close to Camp Gecko with a little
residence. So it looks as if Im headed there. How have winds been with you guys that have been down there late Dec/Jan ? Also can anyone point me to
the right area for corvina in BOLA ? Ive got plenty of maps. Hows the New Years celebration any cool local spots to check out in town ?

Been there many New Years, and no wind to speak of, but sometimes rain!
THE party is at CASA DIAZ, it is where everyone will be New Years Eve night...
