Just returned from our fishing/vacation trip in loreto. First of all I want to say how sorry we feel for the people who lost everything in the tripui
fire having seen the sight first hand while towing our boat to the launch ramp there the morning after. So glad everyone is safe. Property is
replaceable-not life. We want to thank everyone who replied to our posts regarding licenses, launching, places to stay and other valuable information
we received. This info. made our trip very smooth to and from loreto. We had absolutely no problems with any place we visited or with the local
people. This kind of good info. is what makes this site so worthwhile! Again thank you very much.

LARRY, how was the dorado bite? and where did you stay.

Tom: The dorado bite for me was slow. We pulled in about 2 per day with the biggest going a little over 50#. I was told by my neighbors (americans)
that they were getting from 10 to 20 per day! They were fishing off of punta lobos on carmen island only a few miles out near the white buoy which
marks a reef. I like to find my own spots so I launched out of puerto escondido and headed out about 30 degrees for 25 to 30 miles. I guess I should
have joined the crowd to catch more. We stayed at las palmas in one of there cottages which was well equiped and slept up to 6 people. A/C and pool.
Average cost per day was about $85. Had a great time despite the slow fishing.
Next trip

Larry,
Had touched bases with you before the trip south...Thought we might hook-up but.... We had the fire in tripui, but we did save our cabo 226..lost the
lot, but .. we are coming back and hope you make it back to..The fishing is going well now and it is so hard to plan a trip in advance and do not know
what the fish are planning.. If you arn't there you can not catch the fish...Come on back down and we might have a place re-built to have a cold
beer... Martin=o

Martin:
We are sorry to hear that you are one of the people who lost your place in ihe fire. Hope everything works out for you and everyone else involved in
the fire. Wish I knew you had a place in tripui as I launched out of puerto escondido every other day. We probably passed each other launching.
Anyway, we want to return to loreto next year. Maybe we can have that cold beer then. Thanks for your input regarding my questions prior to our trip.
Take care.
