Does anyone know of a good hotel in El Centenario, north of La Paz ?Paulclark - 12-15-2009 at 04:59 PM
I think there is only one no-tell motel on the highway. Can't think of any hotels there.

The only place I know of in El Centenario that rents rooms is Club Marlin - opposite Las Hamacas grocery and just south of the old RV park on the main
road.
Otherwise Chemetla (closer to La Paz) has a new motel on the main road.

Ask for the palapa room on the water. If not available, dont book. There are a few rooms next to the highway. They are sparce and LOUD.
Walking to dinner is nice though.Bajahowodd - 12-17-2009 at 05:15 PM
I realize that there has been some controversy about this place, but it just seems to stay at the number one spot on Tripadvisor.com. Hacienda Del
Sol. Check out the Tripadvisor site reviews and Google the name. Make your own decision.longlegsinlapaz - 12-17-2009 at 05:47 PM
Howodd, how about the next time you're in the area, might I suggest YOU stay there & report back on your stay. Go ahead, ask for
a room key & see how far you get! Count how many beers you leave in the refrigerator before you leave....ditto for change or valuables left lying
around!
Saying there has been "some controversy" is like saying La Paz is just a short hop down the road from TJ! TripAdvisor's rating system is
highly suspect, at best!
Hooker 33, you can do a search here on Baja Nomad for the place & some "testimonials" of former guests at that establishment.
There are two places in Chametla, Paradise is -2 years old & at the airport end of town & Hacienda del Mar is at the end closer to
Centenario....either are about 5-6 min drive from Centenario. Paradise does not have a website listed on their sign, but friends stayed there &
felt the $50 rate for 1 night was pretty steep for the area.
