I'm pretty tired of tire threads but I've got to bring my recent experience and see if anyone else has gotten this kind of mileage. I have probably
owned a dozen sets of BFG All Terrain T/A over the years on Chevys and Tundras. I just got a new set after getting 70,000 miles and I really could
have got another 5000. I have never got over 55000 before. What are you guys getting on these? By the way, 265/65R18 are about $1100 a set, yikes.

I use BFGs too LT285/75R16. I don't get your milage. I get about 50,000 on my GMC. I do replace them before the tread is very low and well before they
should be. I don't like off-roading without much meat on the tire. But I keep them as extra spares for trips . I have 4 extra rims. I sometimes run
the old ones in the states for hwy use.BooJumMan - 12-15-2009 at 07:55 PM
I've always loved them for all around driving. Usually got no more than 35,000 off of them though. Depends on your driving habits. I've been using
Goodyear MT/R's for the last 5 years and really like them. Super durable, good for sharp rocks. Problem is that they just totally changed their tread
design. Donno about the new ones.Sunman - 12-15-2009 at 08:03 PM
For me 40-50K on average. My current set looks like they will be lucky to make 40K, but they've been used HARD so I'm not surprised. 70K's gotta be
some kind of record. Have they been off road much?DianaT - 12-15-2009 at 08:38 PM
With many miles left on them, we usually trade for new ones at about 40 to 45,000 miles. If we were doing strictly highway driving, we would go for
more.Santiago - 12-15-2009 at 09:01 PM

I know - the guys at America's Tire couldn't remember anyone with so many miles. I have more Baja trips than before. I have been very religious
about having them rotated at 5K miles but I normally do. The only thing I can think of is that this is the first set on my 2007 Chevy and maybe
somehow the truck has something to do with it.surfer jim - 12-15-2009 at 09:03 PM
Over the years mine have always been replaced because of old age rather than tread wear.......at times I also had two sets of tires street and BAJA.
Just a side note...had a flat this morning from my trip.Puncture hole. Cost to fix in Orange County.....$28.Bajaboy - 12-15-2009 at 09:22 PM
Yaaawwwnnnnnn. Man I'm beat...better go to bed.BAJACAT - 12-15-2009 at 10:17 PM
Im running 35x17 PROCOMP'S AT's, their 50k miles tire, well I have 30k miles on them and it looks they are not going to make it to the 50k mark.Hook - 12-15-2009 at 10:30 PM
You didnt say which vehicle you got the 70k out of.
Big difference between a Tundra and a full sized P/U. Long bed? 4wd?Santiago - 12-15-2009 at 10:42 PM

Alright already. But you've got to admit, it was a lot of miles.
Hook: 2007 Chevy crew cab, short bed, 4X4 Z71. Did that trade go thru today?Hook - 12-15-2009 at 11:16 PM
The big Cliff Lee, Halladay one? I dont know. Lemme check.
I guess we signed HIdeki Matsui, pending a physical.
Incredible mileage for that vehicle!!! Were you running at max inflation on the pavement? It makes a big difference.

Yep, it went through. Halladay signed an extension. NINE PLAYERS IN TOTAL. I gotta read more.
Damn, Mariners have improved themselves bigtime this offseason.

I replace my tires at about 30K. The guys on CraigsList buy em' up and I get to keep good tread under the truck...redhilltown - 12-17-2009 at 12:14 AM
33's on a Tacoma and I usually get 50,000 plus on the All Terrains though I really like Warrior's idea of changing early, getting some bucks, and
keeping fresh tread.Santiago - 12-17-2009 at 09:02 AM
Good point.

Yes, please tell us. We just pay the fee for the disposal and the tires still have lots of life!
Off-Road Tire?? BFG A/t??
Ken Cooke - 12-19-2009 at 11:22 PM
These tires work GREAT on Hwy 1 and on flat dirt roads, but cliff-side 'crawling behind Mike's Sky Rancho (to Rancho Coyote) was a scary sight for my
friends who told me my BFG ATs (Pre K-O design) spun on the loose dirt due to their non-aggressive tread. I stopped running these tires 3 yrs ago
when I bought the KM2, got a blow out on a flat, dirt road near Joshua Tree, then traded them to a friend for a new set of AT/KO's, and had absolutely
no forward traction leaving the swamp area in Mission Santa Maria - Mission Impossible.
I'm running the Interco TrXus MT tire, and I'm completely satisfied and not worried about blowing a BFG like all of the guys do on my Baja runs that
insist on BFGs until they blow out on them. Seen it too many times to count...
Returning to the old standby: TrXus MT by Interco Tire
Blown BFGs anyone? Do they make Mexican Sandals w/BFG Treads?

15+ Jeeps stopped for poor guy running BFG AT/KO tires:
All Smiles BEFORE Hitting Dirt...Look at what Coco's Corner did for this POOR JEEPER!

Smiling up at La Rumorosa
Ominous sign. Jeeps stopped on trail, sunlight waning. No Bueno.
Didn't even make it to LA BAY!
Now, I don't worry about forward momentum...The President of Baja Crawlers thanked me for not holding up the trail, either!
