Most were taken in the Midriff area. Some of the others were at Punta Eugenia.
Gaucho, the big yellowtail (53 lbs.) was at 35 feet, cruising the bottom. I was hunting cabrilla, and it just swam up to me. It's better to be lucky
than good.
I usually use a heavily modified Riffe Island, but that fish was shot with a 110 cm Picasso Carbono.
The schooled up yellowtail were typical Sea of Cortez fish in the 25 lb. range. |
