In the recent facebook discussion I remarked that I was disappointed that only "friends" could see my Baja pictures. Someone suggested I put the pictures on Flickr, so I did.

The link is below.

It's sort of a mishmash with photos from several trips all mixed together.

(Hope this works....)

Does this website have a character limit for hot links? I've tried to post articles in the past and couldn't get the whole url hot. or is there a secret I am not aware of?

I did check out the photos and they are great!

Yeah, sorry about the link. I tried to edit it, but it looks fine. I don't know why the last few characters don't join the party, as it were.

Use the link button to enter the BB code that'll make it work.

Most links will work automatically. When they have a "," or "@" - or other atypical link character, the system views it as unlikely to be part of the link and treats it accordingly. Use the BB Code, and it'll override this.

All the BB Code does is add a [url ] and [ /url] before and after the link (minus the spaces inside the brackets of course).

You can also use a service such as http://tinyurl.com to shorten the link to something that works when you simply paste it in (and thusly not needing the BB Code). I recommend that for very large links.

Those are some "toad" yellowtail...do you remember how deep you were when you speared that big one? Also, what kind/length gun do you use?

Mexicorn - 12-30-2009 at 09:42 PM

How did you get those underwater shots there Great!

Most were taken in the Midriff area. Some of the others were at Punta Eugenia.

Gaucho, the big yellowtail (53 lbs.) was at 35 feet, cruising the bottom. I was hunting cabrilla, and it just swam up to me. It's better to be lucky than good.

I usually use a heavily modified Riffe Island, but that fish was shot with a 110 cm Picasso Carbono.

The schooled up yellowtail were typical Sea of Cortez fish in the 25 lb. range.

Unbelievable! What time of year was that? Is that a 5mm suit you're wearing or a 3mil?

Tomol - 12-31-2009 at 06:24 PM

Goucho, it was early February, and the suit was a 7 mm.

I'm a wimp.
