a couple of my friends living there emailed and said it was slow in town.
just wondering what my buds in mulege did last night.
we did Mulege for new years almost every year from 2001 thru 2008, with a few breaks to other mexican cities off and on before then.
some of the best were at Penasco, Mazatlan, Loreto, Guaymas-San Carlos.
but Mulege was like home for us.
and you could walk home....Bob H - 1-1-2010 at 01:59 PM
Heard on the news last night "Don't drink and walk". I thought, WHAT? Then they announced the stats.... 30% of people killed while walking were
drunk. They suggested to have a "designated walker" to take you home!

El Rio Santa Rosalia de Mulege is legendary. Here are some true incidents from the last 5 years. Anybody have any others?
- There've been people fall into the river and end up at the Lighthouse, totally confused, wet but happy.
- The road is bumpy which is good for keeping cars movin' slow but has turned many an ankle.
- There was a sign on the river's edge warning of alligators, but it washed away in Hurricane John and is now a lawn decoration in Guaymas.
- There was a 4-foot Water Monitor lizard that got loose and lived on the islands and came on-land at night for several months to hunt. It showed up
at the Serenidad bar one Saturday night during the Pig Roast only to be restled to the dancefloor by Alex the barman.
- A huge bra and humongous boxer shorts were found on one of the islands after Hurricane John (one big x-dresser?)capt. mike - 1-1-2010 at 03:10 PM

Ray's place was pretty cool and he kept things going right up until the magic hour.mulegemichael - 1-2-2010 at 09:36 AM
the crowd at the jungla was small and subdued; not at all like last year...bart didn't really make up his mind until the last minute to do
something....no lizards, no one falling in the river....but a good time was had by all!wessongroup - 1-2-2010 at 04:56 PM
We had a fireworks show from around 7:45, which included explosions so loud they must have been setting off sticks of dynamite..
The folks that were setting off all the pyrotechnic are the guys and their families that live and fish for the lobsters right out in front of where we
stay in El Pescador..
The wife the previous evening thought she was hearing canon fire from the navel vessel about 3-5 miles off the Desconsco Bay on patrol for the past
week. However I assured her if were getting 5" incoming I'm that it would have woke me up..
But, on New Years evening , they were letting loose.. really pretty cool.. lots of rocks, and huge explosions they were at it till late..
Next morning there we two guys laying in the dirt, one was drinking a beer, the other was taking pictures of his friend... I thought maybe I should
take pictures of these guys until I find out there mood... about that time a very large wave hit the little bluff and maybe 500 gallons of saltwater
came down on both.. camera and all...
I was just outside the patio door, when it happen... I holler.. Hey, you want a towel??? they both asked "Cerveza por favor " ..... I laughed and
nodded yes and got them a few beers and tossed the beers to them...
Couple of very hung over guys, but having a good time still.. ahhh those were the days....toneart - 1-2-2010 at 05:03 PM

I'm pretty sure I had a great time.
Co-pilot was thinking ahead and had me fitted with a gps monitor. She just emailed to tell me to take the Statton Island Ferry as the easiest way to
get back home.
Anyone want a White Castle Burger?fishbuck - 1-2-2010 at 08:28 PM

Shoot man only the little boats left early, we stayed out till 11 or 12 on the North end of San Marcos and caught a lot of fish, but it was not the
calm and serene scene of the day before. The drift was very fast and the waves were aroud 3-4 feet, so it was a little bumpy.
But hey, had a nap, and then partied all night at Ray's place.
