Does anybody have pics of this place? I'd love to se them. This was one of our favorite spots in the 70's..great memories

I remember it in the early 80's as a lunch truck covered in stickers selling tacos on the dirt on top of the cliff. Wish i would've thought about

The surf shop at K38 still has the Taco Surf shirts for sale. They are in a new building since they widened the road there though- you gotta look for

No pics but I sure LOVE the tortas there. When they have the red meat going, I get a half and half torta (sin gorda). Sometimes very crowded with
truckers, surfers, locals, ex-pats, dogs and cats but it is all great!

one time when we were surfing at Calafia (on the outside where the condos rise outta the beach) i lost my keys. it was sunday and there was NO WAY to
get a key made in Rosarito. who should pull up to check the surf but good 'ol Gus Cota and Gus jr. was able to bypass the key and hotwire the truck!
long story short we got home that day!!! i often wonder if Gus got screwed outta his property there or not.....

My "Taco Surf" shirt is long gone but I took this photo about 2 1/2 years ago when the sign looked to be freshly painted. Nobody had thrown an apple
or a beer bottle at it. My brother and I when in our teens and early twenties surfed 38's a lot and grinded a few Lobster tacos at Taco Surf. This
photo I actually framed for my "memory lane" section in my office and presented my brother a framed version as well for his office, it brought back a
lot of memories...

Thanks BW. I remember the sign a little different (but they say anybody who remembers the 70's wasn't really there)
We used to surf mainly K38, K55 and San Miguel. Spent a lot of time there when I was in high school. I had a '59 GMC longbed(fit right except the
gringos) and friends that worked at gas station that could bypass the meter at the gas pump. We loaded that truck up with boys and boards and spent
many winter weekends around there.
If anyone starts a Hussongs craziness thread, I'll have lots to say.

I surfed there in the 60's no surf taco then, but Rauls at the top of the hill lets us teenagers buy drinks. Kind of a mushy break though.
