Looks like this is going to be the only close game this weekend.
Go Chargers !!
7 to 3 lead right now.

They should change their name to the Chokers.bigmike - 1-17-2010 at 05:44 PM
I can only say that the Chargers played with No Heart.
They mailed this game in.
They listened to everyone who said they were going to win easily.
San Diego Chokers

Is it even worth it to show up for the 33 party now? The wind has been taken out of my sails.

Just like our San Jose Sharks.
That kicker is going to feel like mierda for a long time.Pompano - 1-17-2010 at 06:26 PM
This guy goes to a bar that has a charger theme all over it but the bartender tells him he can't bring in his dog, a poodle.
"But you don't understand, Bambi is the greatest Charger fan of all time. Can't you tell by her fur died in throwback blue and gold, or the bolts
shaved into her, or the mock helmet cut into the fur of her nappy head!"
Oh..allright" the bartender agrees reluctantly.
So he sits at the bar with his dog as everyone in the bar watches the pre-game show.
So when the players are being announced and running out the tunnel, the poodle stands up on her hind legs and starts barking as she walks backwards
and starts to spin around like a ballerina.
Everyone is amazed and is cheering on the dog.
So later in the game, the Chargers drive down into the red-zone but barely manage to squeak in a field-goal.
The dog starts barking and doing back-flips all the way down the bar.
The bartender gives the owner a free drink and starts to pet the dog.
"Your right, this the greatest Charger fan I have ever seen. What does she do when they score a touchdown?"
The man slowly and painfully replies: "I don't know, I've only had her 5 years now"
Please forgive me for this old chestnut. What do I know? I'm a VIKINGS fan!
They should fire the coach!!!

The Jets defense was ultimately the difference but the Chargers still could have overcome that IF the place kicker hadn't tanked.
And, once again, stupid penalties in the playoffs hurt the Chargers badly.
Too bad LT goes out on that note. He wont be back.

Hockey.
Every year they have the best win/loss record in the NHL. And then they exit in the first round. Sound familiar?k-rico - 1-17-2010 at 07:32 PM
Minnesota!!! My farverite team.
THE FARVE
Refresh my memory. Who did Brees play for before the Saints? Why did he leave?
How many years has Tomlinson been retired?
Beat by a rookie QB and a rookie coach.
Charger fans must understandably feel VERY depressed.
FAAAAAAARVE.

"That's spelled FAVRE. You must be hooked on phonics"
ah, ya cought me.
that's a dyslexic way to spell Farve.
you probably haven't noticed but almost every post I make is edited cuz I always incorrectly spell words correctly and I have to incorrect them. I was
going to edit my post but you quoted me before I coud edit it. I was also going to take out my slam on the Chargers. Sorry Charger fans. I may be
feeling your pain next week.

Farve ?
MrBillM - 1-17-2010 at 08:49 PM
I've seen it explained that the name is pronounced that way because it's French, but that doesn't square with "Le Havre". Others have said it's
because he is Cajun. Maybe so.
It's his name so I guess it's his business.
Remember back when Tony Dorsett tried claiming his name was pronounced "Doorsay" because he was French ? Some reporter went and asked his mom how the
name was pronounced. That was the end of the "Say".vandenberg - 1-17-2010 at 09:01 PM
Farve, Favre..

Was Nate on drugs? All season about perfect and then 3 misses in 1 game??? Too many penalties as well... Oh, well... they are our Chargers... the
'almost' can do it team!
I thought the way LT walked off the field (helmet on and face unseen) told the story of his disappointment... no superbowl ring with this team.
Well... at least LT has his dancing video career ahead of him!!!...

If there was a LOOOOSER BOWL, we could watch them one more time.
Saw a post game interview with Norv Turner and he shocked the audience with the statement, "We did a few things wrong." I guess that
would include showing up.
Oh well....maybe they'll do us a favor and move.sanfelipebob - 1-18-2010 at 07:38 AM

Yes, before Philip Rivers and a bit after Stan Humphries (who took us to the Superbowl in 1994/95... where the 49ers beat us.
Dan Fouts almost got us there in the late 70's/ early 80's... but the Bengals beat us in an ice storm playoff game.k-rico - 1-18-2010 at 09:01 AM
What about Ryan Leaf? My favorite Charger's quarterback!! But I've never been a fan. Even with 35 years living within 30 minutes of the stadium.
Flutie almost converted me tho.

Kaeding is not a 'big game' kicker. Remember 2005 & 06?
Besides, hanging a loss on one guy with an offense having never scored less than 20 points all season is silly.
Just how bad the Chargers played will be fully realized next week when the Colts play the Jets. DENNIS - 1-18-2010 at 10:42 AM

Here's a picture of Nate and Norv discussing the days events.
I admit i havent paid much attention to the season lately, so when i showed up to watch the game one of the things that did catch my eye was the fact
that nate was still on the team. I still remember his last performance in some play off a few years back. I tought, damn, if he was playing in Mexico
he wouldve been fired right after that Patriots game in 06 no matter his record, but here he is, those americans just looking at numbers and records.
Sometimes, you have to go with your gut, Kaeding should have been fired many years ago.
Oh and yes, the Chargers played a horrible mistake filled game.Skipjack Joe - 1-18-2010 at 01:36 PM

When Favre is good there is nobody better. Yesterday he was about as good as he gets. He could thread a needle with his accuracy.
Next week it could be different. He'll still try to thread the needle but if the accuracy isn't there there will be the big game interceptions he's
noted for.
In that sense he's inferior to Manning who is a lot more steady and consistent.Bob H - 1-18-2010 at 07:06 PM

Predictions by the voodoo lady...
Nate and LT will be traded before next season starts.desertcpl - 1-18-2010 at 07:37 PM
LT has one more year with the Chargers,, he will stay, and then retire,, that is what I think,, Keading needs to go,, that was ridicules.and what is
up with Merriman, he needs to go also.
I am a Chargers fan and have been for years,, but that game was ,, well I dont know how to say it,, but it sucked.
like what went onUdo - 1-18-2010 at 07:40 PM
At least the loss was not as bad as the Cowboys!
It's like the season-long Chargers did not show up. They did not lok like the same team...they had no fire in them.
