Bougainvillia's are sick... question for anyone in LaPaz

My old bougainvillia's are sick... I have lost 3 of them so far. They were mature, and fabulous. Now at risk for loosing the others! Apparently they have some root fungus.
I was told there is a tienda in LaPaz called "The Killer" (!!!) The directions I have put it on Feliz Ortega... near the Cruz Roja. Anyone familiar with this place?
I need to purchase something called Furadan.
Thanks for the assist!

Can't help you with directions to "The Killer" But it would appear that you are not going to be able to deal with a root fungus with this product. What I do know is that bouganvilla Are drought resistant, and when faced with a wet environment, will die back.

be sure and check whether or not the giant grasshoppers are eating you into oblivion ....it happens here all the time...bougy's are pretty versatile...very few diseases ...give em lots of vitamins and lots of organics...m.

I am guessing it could be due to over-watering.

I had Heriberto over to see for himself... owns nursery here in TS yesterday... he seems convinced it is a root fungus. Reading the stats on the product he recommended is scary but I am really quite desperate!!
Thanks for in address Kate. (I also asked about the over- watering... no grasshoppers or insects visible)

It seems many plants are dying back in La Paz this last week, rapidly. The weather has been odd. My take is that it's a seasonal change and some plants are suffering from over-watering and root rot.

I see other bougainvillas doing great, especially those which were cut way back. It may be time for both cutting back on watering since the growth rate is quite slow and cut back the bougainvillas.

If anyone has eny advice for cutting back bougainvilla, if its appropriate now or not and what method is best, please let us know.
