Wanted to give everybody a heads up that Monday Feb 1st is a Mexican holiday. We were going to enter at Tecate early tomorrow morning (Sunday) so
stopped in to emigration this morning to get our tourist visas. We thought a bank would be open to collect the fee. We were mistaken. No bank
available today (Saturday), Sunday and we just found out the Monday is a holiday ie Constitution day!! Amazing that no fees can be collected on the
weekend or holiday Monday. Luckily we are in no hurry so will wait till Tues to pay the fee and head out early Wednesday. RonRuss - 1-30-2010 at 06:41 PM

Thanks. I thought I was suppose to have it immediately upon entry if I was going to be out of the free zone but your suggestion makes total sense.

You will have the FMT visa; you won't have the paid stamp.

I realize that people seem to do it all the time, but how is the FM-T valid if it has not been paid for? If no one really cares about it, then why pay
for it at all? My experience at San Ysidro has always been that the immigration officer won't stamp my form until I have the receipt from the bank.

A few years back when you could get your FMT at the immigration office north of GN, there was no bank at the office or in GN that would take the
payments. You HAD to got to La Paz or a larger bank to pay.
