laundramats

absinvestor - 1-31-2010 at 03:16 PM

We've been on the road for over a month and it is about time to hit a laundramat. Anybody know of a laundramat with easy parking on Mex 1 between Ensenada and La Paz? Thanks Ron

There is a really nice nice and clean one with about 10 washer as well as 10 dryers in Mulege. Costs about a buck a load to wash.

Thanks.Luckily we packed for a long trip so not out of clean clothes but it is nice to get the dirty ones back in the closet and drawers. Any of these will work for us. Ron and Patty

The one in Mulege is on a very narrow street in a very tight area.
I'm sure someone will speak up.
I know I have seen them somewhere on that stretch.
SanQuintin ? Santa Rosalia ? ??

Thanks for the heads up. We are hoping to find one with a parking area that is easy in and easy out. We prefer to walk 1/2 block than to try to squeeze a larger motorhome into a compact space. Ron and Patty

:lol: man this is too funny, we have a washer and a dry in the house we are renting, but honest to god, we could'n find one in La Mision, La Fonda Area, Primo Tapia, EL Pescador area, Los Gaviotos, and Califa the only thing left before Rosarito is Fox Studio's and I haven't seen one there either..

Please, any folks know of a laundary mat North of La Mision, and below Rosarito?

Never really have thought about it, until the post, we were told their was a "laundary" in La Mision, but we couldn't find it, unless it was the women down in the river with the rocks.. that place had a washer and a dry too..

So, if anyone does know of a "laundary mat that has coin operated machines would be good information, for emergency :):)

Guess we are living native and I didn't know.. hey, it all good.. I'm happy :):)

The one we've used in Santa Rosalia is right on Highway 1 and parking a big motorhome might be an issue. But, fundamentally, as dt mentioned, there are lavanderias in virtually every town you will pass through. I'd suggest asking at a Pemex when you stop for gas.

absinvestor - 1-31-2010 at 04:36 PM

Thanks again. Asking Pemex is a possible solution but on our last trip to Baja Sur we asked a Pemex attendant where we could get a good fish taco. His directions led us to a narrow street with no turn offs where our motorhome couldn't fit between a light pole and a parked car. We had to back up for a couple of blocks in order to find a place to turn around. The local Mexicans were helpful in directing us in backing up which we much appreciated. Although the experience is great to laugh about around a campfire it is not necessarily one we want to repeat. Thanks again. Ron and Patty

There is one in San Lucas across the street (water side) from the store.
Another in Palo Verde, second street north of the bus stop. Has industrial size washer & dryer. There are a couple of mom&pop stores for the basics there too.

Thanks. Palos Verdes didn't ring a bell but looked it up on the map and it looks like a short trip from San Ignacio where we will spend a day or two. Thanks to everybody. Ron and Patty

Try Lavenderias

There is a good Aqua Purificado just past/south of the turn into San Ignacio, on the right.
You can drive right up and fill with a hose.

Usually the developed RV parks will have a Washer & Dryer. Shari's place in Asuncion does... I think:?:
