White Pelicans

Yesterday we took a friend to work in Guerrero Negro so we were able to take the short cut through the salt company property. It was very interesting as we also got quite a lesson on the workings of the company and the history of salt mining in the area.

There were so many photo opportunities, but we didnīt stop much as he needed to get to work. But we could not resist stopping for this one and shot quickly out the window.

We have so many brown pelicans around here, but we have not seen any white pelicans around.

what a great opportunity to go the back way into the lagoon. Ojo de Liebre is famous for it's white pelican populations in the winter...love the last shot.

White Pelicans, who knew? Love the photos. Looks like maybe a snowy egret was in the woodpile somewhere, if you know what I mean. Thanks for the photos.

Good photos! We get them every year in South San Diego Bay, near Imperial Beach. They come down for the winter from up north, usually fresh water. They seem to be all over the world.

In February?

We only had a short time, but I really enjoyed watching how they feed as it is so different than the other pelicans.

They are beautiful and I was surprised at how much bigger they are.
