Take a look at this little beauty. I saw one, ordered two and it really really works. Keeps tortillas warm for a good while. I just ordered five more
for gifts.
One thing I did which the directions didn't mention was wrap the tortillas in parchment paper only to try and keep the fabric clean although it isn't
necessary.
Don't use foil in the microwave.
Pretty neat, the wife has been using those, injection moulded things, before that I think it was made out of styrofoam or something like that..
It looks like it would be a little smaller than the thing we use now.. which I like.. have to let her take a gander.. thanksWoooosh - 2-5-2010 at 02:52 PM
different from the ones that just keep tortillas warm. great idea. I tried to order two, but they don't take PayPal. Sent them an e-mail so maybe
they will add that payment method (very secure).noproblemo2 - 2-5-2010 at 04:57 PM
Thanks Dennis, just ordered 6 for gifts also, plus one for us, love all the designs they offer.torch - 2-5-2010 at 08:51 PM
everyone like worm tortillas especially when you dont have to warm them one by one. nice I think I'll arder a few myself thanks Dennisgarynmx - 2-6-2010 at 04:17 AM
The restaurant (la Tia) in Rosarito uses these and also sells them for 5.00 or 6.00. I bought one and use it all the time. Really works well.docsmom - 2-16-2010 at 05:52 PM
I got one as a gift last year. It's the bomb! No mess, no pans, and it warms several tortillas evenly and keeps them warm for a long time. Now that
I know where to order them I'll be sending them out as gifts this year. Thanks for the source Dennis.
Worm Tortillas?

Thanks for the tip DENNIS!
See what happens when you take your meds? You have earned a year's worth of free Nomad membership!
I have a couple of those and they do work well. I suggest to turn it inside out when not using it as it gets a little humid inside with the hot
tortillas. I tried wrapping them in paper like Dennis suggests but it seemed to dry out the top and bottom tortillas too much. Or maybe I am just too
fussy about my tortillas!
edit -
I just went back and read the posts again and maybe you have a good idea Dennis, I tried paper towels and they do suck a lot of moisture out.
Parchment paper might work good!

Where is La Tia Restaurant. I'm going to Rosarito this morning. I'd like to stop by, these look great, kgarynmx - 2-18-2010 at 04:16 AM
the restaurant is right across from the big Banamex bank in middle of town. (right side of street). they have great food also.DENNIS - 2-18-2010 at 11:19 AM
OK...Now for a quality control issue, not the product, but the seller. I ordered five for gifts and they sent four. I'll write them and await their
response. I'll letcha know how it plays out.DENNIS - 2-19-2010 at 12:56 PM
Just got a note from the company and the shorted item is in the mail. They're business practices are as good as their product. The Gull - 2-19-2010 at 01:50 PM
Was the bed warmer familiar? Is that why it was removed? or was it that it looked like it belong to a Nomad?desertcpl - 2-20-2010 at 11:31 AM
we just got ours yesterday

A little delayed reaction here. Sorry.
Anyway, parchment paper works well, but perhaps not everyone has it lying around. With that in mind, I used a couple of pieces of paper from my
printer. Also a plate. It works just fine as long as there's no gold-leaf printing on the back side.
I've also been given a tip that you can bake potatoes in these warmers. I'll experiment with that.

I'm back! Just got new password and want to thank you again for the tortilla warmer you gave us. Using it today for fish tacos.

I was in Rosarito today and tried to find the restaurant, "La Tia".
The only place that seemed to fit your description was "El Tio, Gorditas Estilo Torreon"; and it is located in the same block, but on same side (west
or ocean side) as the Banamex, not across the street (east or inland side).
Am I missing something?
Also, DENNIS, (Warning, Shameless Self Promotion Alert!), my birthday is coming up.

A couple years back my mother gave me one of those for doing potatoes. They are a quick & easy way to heat the potato completely through. The
texture is different than that of a baked potato, the taste not really as good imho. Works in a pinch, though, and some folks really don't seem to
notice much difference in taste.
Note: Do NOT poke holes in your baked potato if you heat it this way. All the juice will run out of the holes. Just put up to 2 potatoes in the bag
and nuke for about 5 min. It won't explode - honest.

Hi Nena..............I put the spuds in a sandwich bag. Holds the moisture. Poke fork holes in the potato as well. Just a thought.
Miss your virtual Margarita parties here. Lots of things and folks have gone. Kinda sad.lizard lips - 2-26-2010 at 07:07 AM
I wish the company made them bigger. I would put my wife in one and keep her HOT all the time! Natalie Ann - 2-26-2010 at 07:17 AM
Nuking potatoes in a plastic bag.... oh Dennis, that just goes against all my Berkeley 'green' learning. Best to pay for a cloth bag
which will do the same thing.
Virtual margarita parties set to begin if ever the rain ends... bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the agenda for all oldsters who come out of hiding for the
event.
Lizard Lips - can't believe you said that.

I think the plastic bag holds in the heat and moisture which accelerates the cooking process. I'll wrap one in a towel and do a test.DENNIS - 2-26-2010 at 07:29 AM
