I got this in my email this morning . I can't copy the ad but it says you will get double minutes if you recharge online this month http://idtelcel.ideasrecargas.com/ . I think it is direct thru Telcel. I don't know if the rates are the same as babblebug . Maybe someone better
at spanish than I am can do some more research . Thanks for bringing babblebug to our attention. koladulce - 2-7-2010 at 06:49 PM
What are the Telcel per minute rates with a phone card? Babblebug looks interesting.Riom - 2-7-2010 at 11:27 PM
I've used babblebug a couple of times in the past, worked fine also. If I remember right it was 100 pesos of airtime added for $10 - obviously
there's a markup there but the convenience can be worth it, especially if you need to keep a phone alive until the next trip. I doubt any current
bonuses apply when recharging this way.
If you have a Mexican bank account (in pesos) with online banking you can also recharge the Amigo account with that, even if you are outside Mexico.
That's the way I normally add credit now. Once it's set up as a frequent payment it doesn't take much effort to make a payment, and it does include
any "gift" bonuses for larger recharges.
Good catch Lencho on that phishing site. Definately one to avoid. It's on a shared hosting server in Seattle, along with a couple of hundred other
domains - and of course the form is not encrypted.

Ideasrecargas.com is a domain that was registered January 27, 2010 to a Santiago, Chile address. Personally, I would NOT submit my credit card info
to that site...

No kidding, thanks to you both for doing a little research and possibly saving fellow Nomads from credit card or identity theft...
Just because it is "on the internet" doesn't mean it is real, safe, or wise....!
Thanks Guys, for the heads up

That's why I love nomads. I don't know how to find that info. I get a lot of their emails probably a couple times a month. I had been looking at
it. I didn't like that they asked for your credit card limit.Glad to know you can recharge thru your bank. I'll see if I can set that up.k
Banamex

I have a Banamex account and have recharged my Telcel Amigo phone at Banamex ATM's. I have never been able to find a way to do this online at the
bank web site. (You can pay for monthly Telcel plans, but not pay-as-you-go Amigo plans.)
If anyone has found a way to do this I would appreciate a U2U.

I received an email just this morning to NOT fall for this online Telcel recharging. It is a scam to get your info.Riom - 2-8-2010 at 02:07 PM

I use Bancomer, didn't realise it wasn't possible on Banamex.
As you say, it can be done at their ATM's though (click on the Bancos link for the full list of banks where that can be done).
There are also stores in the US that (sometimes) sell the recharges. Click on the "en E.U.A." link, then "punto en venta en EUA" to get a form where
you can search by state. (I would assume that some stores in that list have gone out of business or are out of stock, but it's a starting point).
