Missing cats, downtown La Paz

JESSE - 2-9-2010 at 01:00 PM

My male cat has been missing since saturday, and on sunday, his sister, got missing as well. If anybody sees them around the area, i would appreciate of you can contact me. Its the first time they have been missing, and i am very concerned that just one day later the female went missing as well. Both are spayed and or neutered.

JESSE - 2-9-2010 at 01:10 PM

This is Daniel, the male, 2yrs old

His sister camila, female, 2yrs old

JESSE - 2-9-2010 at 01:10 PM

Both wear collars, Camila has a tag with our data, but Daniel is missing his tag.

I really hope that you find your kitties.

Sincerely, GJ

Jesse, keeping my fingers crossed for their prompt and safe return to you.

chippy - 2-9-2010 at 01:23 PM

Get some flyers out there and good luck Jesse.

What???

Dave - 2-9-2010 at 02:20 PM

No Chinese restaurant jokes?

Highly unusual for cats to just 'disappear'.

I'd suspect foul play.

Jesse, I hope you find your cats, or more appropriately...

That they find you.

DENNIS - 2-9-2010 at 03:10 PM

Offer a reward and I'll bet they show up. They probably arn't that far away.

They live at the restaurant, usually they roam the yard from 10am til 5pm, and then they are indoors til 12am for about an hour, and stay indoor when we close.

The male went missing on Saturday, and the female on Sunday. Both are very finicky eaters and refuse to eat anything besides their particular brand of cat food. Theres about 8 other cats in the area, all strays. I originally tought about someone poisoning my cats, but if this was the case, some of the strays that eat anything and everything, would have been missing as well. Thats hasnt happened.

Theres one other cat that belongs to a neighboor, he is sort of a friend to our cats, he stops by often, eats, plays with ours, and the neighboor claims he hasnt seem him in five days as well. The day our male cat was missing i saw him playing with my female cat late at night. When i called her to come in, she didn't want to, so i had to to climb the roof and catch her to get her in.

Oh well, i love my cats, by i know how cats are, i am hoping for the best, if you see them around, theres a free dinner for anybody that can help me get one or both back.

Gracias.

I did, i am offering 1000 pesos for each cat.

Bajahowodd - 2-9-2010 at 04:41 PM

Cute cats. Major problems for cats is their curiosity. Just wondering if you have checked out places such as storage facilities and garages around your restaurant, where the doors may be seldom opened. We have personally, and have neighbors who experienced just such a thing. They just get trapped. I wouldn't expect that any sane person would steal a cat, so most likely, they wandered into a very localized situation where they got trapped. Although, Dave's reference to Chinese restaurants did make me chuckle. Not too much.

Buena suerte.

I'll throw in another 1000. If the reward is big enough, the whole city of La Paz will be looking for your cats and they will be found.
Anybody else care to see a family reunited?

We have 5, ranging from 13 to 21 years old, and we love them like the family they are...

A reward might just do the trick !
Good luck.

bajafam - 2-10-2010 at 09:50 AM

Hope your kitties find their way home!!

alafrontera - 2-11-2010 at 01:31 AM

Any coyotes in La Paz? I'm not making a joke, here in SD a coyote wanders into a residential area and a lot of small pets go missing. I have a koi pond; $100 snacks for raccoons, skunks and possums. My (ex) wife has rabbits and even hawks are a problem. All I'm saying is there may be a predator about. 2 cats in 2 days sounds suspicious to me.

JESSE - 2-12-2010 at 11:14 AM

No Kate, we haven't heard anything:no:

BajaGringo - 2-12-2010 at 11:32 AM

Not sure how I missed this thread up until now but I am so sorry Jesse. When one cat gets out / goes missing it is not unusual for a companion cat to go out in search for it. I really hope that they both show up, safe and sound...

wessongroup - 2-13-2010 at 04:13 PM

bump for cats

Ken Bondy - 2-13-2010 at 04:55 PM

Buena suerte Jesse, I sure hope you find them. It's incredible how attached one becomes to those damn furbags. I like this quote:

"Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened."

JESSE - 2-13-2010 at 05:05 PM

Yeah, i been pretty sad this past week, can't get used to not having the gang around me.

Paula - 2-13-2010 at 05:11 PM

I'm really sorry to hear, Jesse. I thought they would be home by now. I know it is hard not knowing where they might be. Still hoping they find their way home.

Jesse,

Daniel and Camila are beautiful and I'm so sorry to hear they have not returned.

I pray nothing bad has happened to them and that they are safe no matter where they are... hopefully they will return home to you soon!

For many people their animals are far more than pets... they are family!

astrobaja - 2-14-2010 at 10:50 AM

Jesse, please don't give up hope! I know how devastated we would be if one of our indoor cats went missing!
Have you thought of asking around at the nearest vet places in your neigborhood, you could put up posters there as well.

elizabeth - 2-14-2010 at 11:24 AM

As another cat lover, I feel really sad for you. I have experienced cats gone missing and I know how awful it is. I'm hoping they will come back soon...

We did put up posters in most Vet places in town, supermarkets, and all around the neighboorhood.

mulegemichael - 2-14-2010 at 04:29 PM

we'll throw another 1000 pesos into the reward basket...let's git em back home!

docsmom - 2-18-2010 at 07:10 PM

Bump for the kitties.

BCSTech - 2-20-2010 at 04:27 PM

Just a small encouragement, Jesse, we had one of our neutered males go missing for two weeks. Then he simply showed up one morning. Couldn't believe it.

Your a regular Jerry Seinfeld aren't you?

ELINVESTIG8R - 2-22-2010 at 11:49 AM

durrelllrobert That was in such poor taste even I was offended. When someone loses pets you don't joke about it.

I lost two cats to coyotes where I live. The last one I was able to track the coyote on a fire road behind my property for two miles and by shear luck found him eating my Tommy. God I was f-ing angry! I shot the coyote 15 times with my 9MM pistol. It’s not a joking matter!

Bajahowodd - 2-22-2010 at 12:45 PM

It ain't coyotes, anyway. Anyone who has been to Jesse's restaurant would know. An urban location.
