Weather Feb 10

Marie-Rose - 2-10-2010 at 07:22 AM

Started with showers around 9pm last night here in TS. I believe is rained on/off most of the night although I don't see any huge puddles in the yard this morning. ( Wet enough to keep the dogs in bed though!)
Now at 7:30 am gentle shower with very little wind.
Curious about what it is like elsewhere:?:

Coyote Bay reporting in..

Pompano - 2-10-2010 at 07:34 AM

Good morning! Here in Coyote Bay it is kind of dismal looking. Overcast skies, about 55 degrees, very little wind. Feels like rain later?

I'm gonna add some Kahlua to mi cafe and celebrate the lack of that blinding sun. ;)

Reporting from the cold Capitol

capitolkat - 2-10-2010 at 07:54 AM

This is my last winter in DC as I retire in August and begin our house in Centenario. So mother nature is ensuring this will be a winter to remember. The Federal Government has been closed since Friday noon and I don't see it opening here in DC at all this week. Today is another about 18 inches of snow on top of the 30+ we got Saturday/ Sunday. The emergency services have been overwhelmed, about 100,000 in the area without power, all public transportation has shut down and most stores are out of staples, milk , bread and no deliveries in sight. Today's snow will make 2010 the snowiest winter in history for DC-beating the winter of 1899.

a little rain and 55 degrees-- what a wonderful contrast- so keep the photos and reports coming as I hunker down and think of next winter in La Paz/Centenario and maybe lay out on the beach if it's like your weather today and think about the blizzard of 2010. Norm

Beautiful Sunshine in El Socorro, seems we're in between the storm fronts, satellite shows one storm to the south & one huge one to the North.

Rained off & on overnight but just enough to keep the dust down.

Papallote is still a mess from the storm 2 weeks ago, the side roads are still swamped but the highway is clear. Bridges South of San Quintin are all passable, hear they are still working on the bridge South of El Rosario though.

Overcast w/light rain in La Paz.

I feel very foolish for having sent 'heads-up' to friends yesterday about the major storm that was going to inundate us from Catavina to Cabo.

The reality seems to be what is perfectly normal for this time of year, what I believe is called an "equipatas rain." Not sure what that means or how it's spelled -- correctly, that is. "Pig weather?"

Bajajazz ( and everyone else). Don't feel foolish about the "heads-up". It looked like it could have been what we all got last week, inundated with water. Nothing wrong with letting people know in case they didn't see it................ Thanks for that. I, for one, appreciate it.
The sprinkling started last night about 9:30, and a light steady rain went thru the night. It was refreshing, and I hope it didn't impact anyone else someplace else.
