The 'Mag Bay' we do know about is nowhere in the Sea of Cortez, however! :lol:

Yes, I agree with David K. These areas are not anywhere to be seen on the Sea of Cortez side. However, I clearly see them on the Pacific side on my Baja Almanac. Bob H

Since we are nitpicking,
it is my understanding, feel free to correct me if
I'm wrong, I think the term officially is the
Gulf of California (aka Sea of Cortes
or the Vermillion Sea)

Yes, it is the Gulf of California.

The Sea of Cortez (English spelling) was what the Gringo Gazette writer called it, and is the poetic 'other' name for the gulf...

Mar de Cortés (with an s) is the Spanish spelling.

The "dude" from the Gringo Gazette is a Mexican national who has lived in the Los Cabos area for 20 years. Worked at the Melia Hotel, then went to work for Carrie Duncan. Eventually became her partner and is now the editor of the paper as well as co-owner of their weird combo boutique hotel and nightclub called Splash. I know for a fact that he has traveled extensively at least as far North as Loreto to peddle papers and sell ad space. Maybe I'm a tad surprised about the SOC reference, but I'd give him a break. He's a really good guy.

The club is called Scoop.....you know, a newspaper term.

Oops. You got me there. Dunno what I was thinking. Nevertheless, it's a bit of a strange place. Just to show how feeble I am, we actually were in Scoop. Not as a destination, but rather, we had parked uptown and were headed to Mocambo for dinner. Passed by and decided to check it out. Mocambo, by the way, is one of the best choices in Los Cabos for honest seafood dinners. It has the ambiance of a 4H club exhibit building at the county fair. But the menu is huge and the food is really good. Just a couple of block up from the main drag in Cabo.

Oh, Yes! I'd rather see "mucho años" then have to see "mucho anos""!!! :tumble:
