Ensenada police planting drugs

Curt63 - 2-18-2010 at 12:55 PM

A friend of mine (retired high school teacher) was staying at the La Pinta Hotel recently. He parked his car (flashy Mercedes wagon, I know I warned him) outside on the street.

He came out of the hotel to find a shady looking character hastily close the rear hatch. He approached the guy and said "what the hell are you doing to my car?". Immediately an Ensenada Police officer shows up and wants to search the car. It seems the shady character had planted a box of marijuana.

This is where the story (its true) gets good. As my friend is sitting on the sidewalk explaining that they were not his drugs, one of my friend's former students drives by on a motorcycle and they instantly recognize each other. The former student is now a Federal Police Officer and after some warm greetings, inquires whats going on.

After a brief explanation, the former student takes the Ensenada police officer and the shady character in for questioning.

I sure hope this is an isolated instance, but....

Oh heck....I thought this was going to be gardening tips. ;D

There was a post here a few months ago -- I think it may have been Lizard Lips, but I'm not sure -- where he told us that his step-son, who is a Mexican cop, got a knock on the door from two Ensenada cops. The cops told him that his car parked outside was stolen. It wasn't, but it was an obvious attempt to extort some money out of him. When they found out he was a federale, they made some lame excuse and left.

Friends don't let friends stay a the La Pinta!

Martyman - 2-18-2010 at 02:02 PM

For $39 they do!

There is always someone who provides ridiculous stories that are absolutely true and told with enormous precision and accuracy. We are blessed to have two on the same thread.

I would like to add a third: my dog ate my homework and then I was late for my bus but there was a mexican cop who wasn't in uniform, but he made like he was a border patrol agent because he had just bought some clothes from a guy in the State of Washington who allegedly mailed lots of uniforms all around the world who then was seen with El Teo, when they were eating at the fanciest restaurant in Mexico City where my other friend works, which restaurant does not have a name because they keep the location secret and I know this because before he was killed by the Federal Police, the builder told his cousin that he was really worried about his safety because his girlfriend found out he had a wife and his girlfriend was sleeping with another drug lord who also had no name, but who was always bragging about how he could do anything he wanted because...

gnukid - 2-18-2010 at 06:43 PM

... a huge real estate guy, like huge, was identified as the guy who was we thought was pretending to be a cop but then we realized it was a party, he was the DJ, a costume party, then the Puma team showed up, but they were the midget team, also my Mom was there, and, cause, we know, it must have been Calderon in midget drag, I knew cause I was too.

We didn't report it because my phone had no credit, but I reported the car-jack to my second cousin, he said he will find the guys, if we drop off $1000 at BK in San Isidro at Midnight, tomorrow. Do not tell anyone I said this.

The Gull - 2-18-2010 at 06:51 PM

...I will shake up a bottle of Coca Cola and throw it out my window as I drive by and that will keep the guy hiding behind the tree waving a machete in one hand and his cell phone in his other hand, scream something like I am going to kill you in Spanish, but not real Spanish because my other friend who grew up around lots of other who spoke many languages told me he couls always tell when someone was speaking something like Spanish but not really Spanish, but then the car ran off the road and and rolled over when I was avoiding the cow in the road and when woke up in the hospital six years later I was told that my hands were cut off when I blasted through the windshield because my seat belt was made of bad materials from a fake car dealership in Tecate but because I made friends with the lady who washed the floors at the hospital she taught me how to type on her laptop with my toes...

Did the huge real estate guy sell timeshares or property?

torch - 2-19-2010 at 07:41 AM

Gull and gnukid are you saying because the story starts with " A friend of mine..." that this is most likely hearsay ramble? just asking :?:

Curt63 - 2-19-2010 at 08:44 AM

Gull, Thanks for another useless post. The story is true. I read your last 20 posts and gathered you're probably some bored drunk that cant put down the mouse and go enjoy the beauty, people and adventure of Baja any more. I look forward to hearing about something interesting that you did or saw (not booty pics you grabbed from the internet). Try interacting with a real woman.

Gnu, out of respect for your many intelligent posts, I will gather you're havin fun jumping on the bandwagon.

Cheers!

The Gull - 2-19-2010 at 09:01 AM

Curt,

Thank you for reading my posts. Your opinion is like so many others, is unneeded and meaningless.

A friend of mine who lives in Escondido was telling me about this guy he met who makes up these wild stories about things that really don't happen in Mexico just so he sounds so cool for knowing things that are dangerous and exciting to talk about because sitting at a bar stool and trying to find friends requires this dude to make things up. He asserts through these stories that he was the one who did it or saw it, so his life sounds much interesting than it really is.

"A friend of mine..." "this is a true story..." "once upon a time..." "this ain't no ch1t..." "it was another guy..." all are famous openers for stories, with the last one being used by OJ Simpson.

torch - 2-19-2010 at 09:26 AM

so "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see" is how you see it?

The Gull - 2-19-2010 at 09:28 AM

Good words to live by, along with "and nothing that Wooosh posts."

DENNIS - 2-19-2010 at 09:31 AM

Ah yes...Bloodshed in the morning. It's gonna be a good day.

bajaandy - 2-19-2010 at 06:17 PM

Hey Curt, I'm laughing my a$s off right now. Mostly because of what happened and who it happened to, but also because of the clueless wankers that have no idea what or who they're talking about. I love it when a d0uche bag chimes in and shows off his true ignorance and stupidity.
Do it again Gull!
Do it again gnu!

(Oh, and Gull, I haven't read any of your posts and don't know you. But I do know Curt. Anyone who would impugn the integrity of a friend of mine is himself unneeded and meaningless. Your post makes you appear as a sorry, shallow and lonely little man. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. And truth be told, I really don't care.)

Carry on WANKERS!!!

Kidnapped

The Gull - 2-20-2010 at 03:20 AM

Andy.

Thank you for the encouragement.

I knew of this guy, who had a friend who had a friend, who was always defending him. They never knew why, but learned later that they were friends of a different kind. As we learn about different strokes for different folks, it sometimes comes as a shock.

I was kidnapped last night by gun-toting, black SUV-driving, bad dudes who took all my change from the center console from my car and siphoned the gas from my diesel truck. They must have been meth freaks because they let me go at a PEMEX gas station where I had to sell my spare tire to fill up my tank. Along came a police car, so I didn't report the crime because reporting crime in Mexico is something nobody does and I didn't want to end up on someone's death squad list for reporting tweakers. I had to pay the cops the remainder of my change from selling the tire and filling up my tank. Then this friend of mine who I had not seen for 30 years drove into the station and asked the cops why they were hassling me. It turns out that he is a "three letter agency representative from the US" and the two cops knew of his connections. He had these two cops under surveillance because they were suspected of doing bad things and the Mexican government asked his agency to help in these matters. A black helicopter from overhead landed at the PEMEX and took the two cops away after I got my change back from them. I am safely back at my casa, now and having drinks with the usual group of deep space aliens who drop by on Saturday nights in Baja. I realize that some of what I wrote above sounds too crazy to have happened, but it is true, all true, I do keep loose change in the console of my truck.

A) You can post what you know and not let the kiddies on Nomad bother you when they reply with crap.

B) You can let the kiddies win, and not post anymore here.

There are many times more viewers of Nomad than you know... many more than those who post here and many many more than who are registered here. Remember that you are appreciated for contributions... and those who distract with their silliness are not respected.

I get many emails from non-Nomads thanking me for what I do... so, I hang in there. Curt63 and bajaandy are good people and have contributed good stuff here... Thanks Curt, I know there are both good and bad Mexican cops... Any Nomad that thinks otherwise has his/ her head in the sand.

willardguy - 2-20-2010 at 10:26 AM

David is spot on.
after awhile you'll be able to spot the burroes hiding behind their screen with nothing to contribute and simply skip on to the next reply.
