Telcel Text re: 18 tons explosives...<

Ten minutes ago on my cell phone I rec'd a text message in Spanish saying there was a 'stolen trailer with 18 tons of explosives in the saltillo. MTY/EU"

I don't have a clue what this is about...nor why I would receive this...nor do I know what/who MTY/EU is... I thought 'saltillo' was floor tile....

Anybody know what's going on?

I can see this topic easily getting "blown" out of proportion.

Looks like it's a scam to try to get you to sign up for a (chargable) SMS news service:

The actual news story they're using as the bait is a real story from mainland Mexico:

Thanks for that info. I didn't sign up for anything but in scrolling back to old text msgs (which I never check)...there is one from Telcel asking me to reply with '2222' if I want this service. Never responded so not sure why I rec'd this...now to find out if I am paying for it!
