I have a new truck and I'm selling my old one to a Baja buddy. We will both be driving into Baja at Mexicali before we get the new plates. Can you
tell me what to expect if we show up with just the new owner forms on the windows and the new registrations in our pockets?
Thanks a bunchDENNIS - 2-27-2010 at 08:14 AM
I recently did that. Nobody said anything. I don't know how it would go on the mainland where the vehicle needs a permit.
Anyway, no problem for me at San Ysidro.bonanza bucko - 2-27-2010 at 08:56 AM

No problem at all going in ... Did it with my last two Tacomas without plates.
Coming out, the U.S. agent just asked to see something with my name and the vehicle listed together... I had my U.S. auto insurance card already for
the new truck, and that worked for him.
Make sure to notify your Mexican Insurance company of the different vehicle you now have (if you are on a annual policy). In the space where it
usually has the license plate #, they put in 'NEW CAR'.bonanza bucko - 2-27-2010 at 10:41 AM
