Catholic Church fundraiser at Ray's Place in Mulege.

Pescador - 3-1-2010 at 01:09 PM

There will be a dinner at Ray's Place in Mulege on Wednesday night, March 10. $250 pesos for dinner, and all proceeds over straight cost will go to the Catholic Church in Mulege. Ray estimates over half will go to the Church so this should work really well.
As an added enticement, I and two of my friends will provide the music for the evening with guitar and singing. This will mostly be older Folk Music, slightly Country Western, and some little ditties that most of you have never had the opportunity to ever hear before in your life. (and may never want to hear them again) It will be ecclectic with Willie Nelson, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, Beatles, John Denver, Eagles, and whatever else we can come up with and have promised a least a couple of spanish songs that I have been working on as well.
If interested send me a u2u as the seats are filling up very fast and we will have to cut off when Ray says we are full.

No money....they're broke.

I hear that priests are running out of little boys to diddle.

A sad situation.

Actually, the church was hurt really bad in the hurricane that flooded Mulege, and the people who would normally try to throw a few extra pesos in the basket and not able to do much since they have had their own problems brought on by the flood. Ray is a very generous and giving person and the people of Mulege see his name at the Pig Races, at the Chili cookoff, and almost any of the fundraising done in Mulege will have some sign that Ray gives what he can.
So, it just happened that the Father came by to see Ray, who is a Catholic, and he had that on his mind when we got to talking about how he came out of the flood. I am not a Catholic but am proud to do my little part in helping to repair some of the damage from Jimena.

Thanks. I figured it had something to do with an act of God. :)
