Sentri Lane

Borregoman - 3-4-2010 at 12:11 PM

I will be taking my non-sentri pass parents with me down to San Felipe soon. We will all be riding in the same vehicle...I know I cannot cross back to the US in the sentri lane with them onboard, but does anyone see any problem with me dropping them out of the truck in the sentri lane right at the point were you can walk under the road and to the walk thru? I can't remember if I saw any signs indicating that there is no drop offs in that area or not. Not that you couldn't get away with that a little farther back.... I would just hate to wait in that line....my parents are in their mid 80's.

Hey Borregoman,

It is fine to drop non-Sentri card holding people off when you get to the border so they can walk across. However, in the Sentri lane you are not supposed to carry anyone elses' belongings in your car either, so you would have to unload your folks and all their bags....which might not go over so well considering their age.

I did this with my fiancee last year and she was not pleased, as the pedestrian line took well over an hour and she had several bags. Thankfully she still married me!

My suggestion is keep your folks in the car, brave the regular line and enjoy each others company for a couple hours.

If you get there at 6:00a.m. the wait is only 5 minutes long,I know that means you have to leave San Felipe around 4:00am but its worth it.
