Experience with Ford body shop in La Paz?

Apparently the Ford body shop in La Paz is the contract body shop for my insurance - ACE Seguros - and they've taken my badly damaged SUV there for work. Any Nomads had any experience there -- good, bad or neutral? Any one know someone they/I could ask?

They fixed our Subaru when we were rear ended by a rental car a few years ago. They are well equipped and did an okay job except for the alignment of the bumper which they fixed after we pointed it out. They certainly did a better job than the place Geico sent me to in the states recently. My biggest complaint was with the insurance company who refused to provide a rental car while our car was in the shop.

I found them very frustrating to deal with -- Check your car very carefully when you pick it up -- inside and out-- as they left obvious parts off and did not replace or repair internal braces on mine. I would suggest you have the adjuster with you when you inspect it.

Thanks for those comments. Very helpful to have a sense of what other Nomads have experienced.

Joel - like I mentioned before, I have a lifted F350 Powerstroke. The rear diff exploded and I took it to the Ford dealer. It sat there for three weeks while Ford decided that they couldn't fix it. I then took it to Walo (a well-known La Paz transmission guy) and he fixed it in 3 hours (that was 5 years ago).

I just dealt with La Paz Ford again for a new u-joint/yoke for the front end and they could not have been more efficient. Parts for a non-Mexican built truck came zooming out of somewhere in two days.

As you don't appear to have a choice- hold thumbs. Good luck!

I have had to use them twice but not for body work. Both times very satisfied.
