Ensenada-La Paz

bajabass - 3-11-2010 at 03:26 PM

Saturday and Sunday my wife and her father will be driving down to La Paz. Any hazardous areas I need to forewarn her of. I guess there are still a couple bridge detours in San Quinti and El Rosario. Anything between Santa Rosalia and La Paz I should know of? Thanks Folks, Jon

Thanks, hotel handled. I'll give her the name and #, you never know! I've warned her about Constitution, hope she listens:lol:

Bass- Chill. There's nothing more than the usual stuff. Your kin should do quite fine. Seriously. A few bridge detours is about it. From everything posted, those detours add minimal time to the trip. Bon voyage to your loved ones.

Gracias senor! I thought that was the case, I have the last minute jitters, she is upstairs whistling and packing! Heck, shje's the Mexican, no worries:fire: I just wish I was going!!!

longlegsinlapaz - 3-12-2010 at 06:48 AM

bajabass, you best put on your darkest sunglasses, lest you get M all bummed out over your green eyes! She & papa will do fine! And keep in mind....the more successful her trip is, the sooner you could be down here fishing this area!:bounce: Just think of it as....she's the advance scout & breaking trail for you to head south!

Like your wife's style.. she is getting out of the house... and she is getting to go South.. and she is happy.. she is going SHOPPING!!

Agree with the others.. relax.. your going to be packing your underwear in a short while.. and also.. agree with legz.. she is "breaking trail" for you...

Relax, your getting the delux turbo super treatment.. your going to move into a "new" place to live.. all checked out by the wife with most likely one of the better set ups (based on what you have told us about her abilities to get er done) ... all you are going to have to do is.... keep out of her way and make sure she is a happy camper.. if she is whistling that is a really good sign, keep it that way... thats the hard one.. keep us up to date.. just love these stories, have her take pictures.. please!!

Thanks friends! Yeah, she will be fine, as there are several Nomads that have said she will be in good hands,:o, I mean looked after. If it is possible, I may be more excited about her trip than she is. We are getting a new camera this morning, and as soon as I can figure out how to downsize pics, I promise I will share! She has a pretty good eye for photos, husbands,:?:, the jury is still out:lol::lol: OK, time to align a nice little ambulance. Reports to follow.

bajabass - 3-14-2010 at 09:29 AM

I guess the road is in great shape. The wife left Ensenada at 6am yesterday, and was eating dinner in Santa Rosalia by about 4:15pm. She was watching and learning on the last 3 trips we made south. I'm proud of her:yes:. She should hit La Paz by early afternoon if she keeps up her pace.

longlegsinlapaz - 3-14-2010 at 01:12 PM

I'm thinking that we might want to try to talk Dr/Mrs/bajabass & papa into staying here in La Paz, ya know, kinda like protective custody....until the US travel warning advisories are lifted. Anything to help out a fellow Nomad by making his wife & father-in-laws safety & well-being top priority!!

Keep it up Legs, and I won't be cleaning your pool in a Speedo!:!:;) Got a call a few minutes ago, Mrs. Dra. Bajabass has landed in La Paz in record time, with zero problemas, ahead of schedule. She found a nice clean little hotel in Mulege last night, hit the road at 8:30, boom, done. Now she can get to work! Well, I guess she can relax a little. That is 2 days of making good time. OK La Paz, watch out for the crazy lady in the Element;)

longlegsinlapaz - 3-14-2010 at 04:02 PM

It's nice to know that occasionally GOOD things come about from our words!:lol: Not having met you, that speedo comment came across as a potential threat!:bounce::biggrin:

bajabass - 3-14-2010 at 04:09 PM

Scares me, and I'm fearless. :biggrin:I look far better in jeans, a long sleeve t-shirt, and a boat!!

Bajahowodd - 3-14-2010 at 04:12 PM

Ensenada to Sta. Rosalia in one day. They tells me that either the roads are empty, or the driver was hauling culo.:o

longlegsinlapaz - 3-14-2010 at 04:13 PM

Dang!!!! Don't ya just HATE it when you leave both your pole & the beer cooler on the beach!

Bajahowodd - 3-14-2010 at 04:23 PM

Didn't know his nationality until now, but I'm sure that he'll probably bring the cooler with him.:tumble:

That's my girl:smug: She was with me when I went from Santipac to Orange in one long day. :wow: I was pronounced comatose the next morning, but it was worth an extra day in paradise with the most beautiful doctor in Baja:bounce::yes:

Oh no, I've been ID'ed. But I am multi-national at heart!

longlegsinlapaz - 3-14-2010 at 08:30 PM

Uh oh....me thinks I've just cut myself off from a food source! I'm going to assume it woulda been muy picante & it's a well-documented fact on BN that I don't do picante:fire: So could you please pass the lemon for my fried fish, por favor.

Bajahowodd - 3-17-2010 at 04:35 PM

That's all she told you about, huh? Just offers? No acceptance? It must be true that the husband is always the last to know! She must be keeping the casa transaction for a special surprise!;)

Hope to see you in La Paz REAL SOON!:bounce::lol::lol:

:?::?: Is there something I should know Legs? I thought she was checking jobs a little further south:no: I probably will be the last to know;D:smug:

bajabass - 3-17-2010 at 06:59 PM

Read my little rant did ya? Sometimes even other people think I'm funny. I always do:biggrin:

longlegsinlapaz - 3-17-2010 at 07:28 PM

Further south??? There's only about another 130 miles of land souther than La Paz....unless you've always dreamed of living on a boat!! Then you'd have to get up early enough to row her to work, so I guess it's a good thing the one she accepted is within walking distance of the water! Got that business sold yet....Ya ever noticed how great a motivator a little incentive is?:bounce:

bajabass - 3-17-2010 at 07:53 PM

Why do you think I sent her down there? I can make her think it is her idea. We both know she has to be happy, for me to remain that way! Doctors can make you  and healthy, or :barf: and dead:o. I prefer the former!!! I'll fly down in a month or two, and check it out myself. Wish I had time to drive like she did.

longlegsinlapaz - 3-17-2010 at 07:58 PM

"TIME TO DRIVE LIKE SHE DID" Uh, Bunky, it didn't take her no time at all! You must be the real slow-poke driver in the family!:lol:

bajabass - 3-17-2010 at 08:24 PM

I love every bit of that drive! 2 days of peace, at 85mph:wow: Way better than flying! I have never been bored for a minute of driving in Baja, at least not south of Ensenada. I am looking forward to plenty of time to slowly learn the whole coast. Boat ramp by boat ramp!:light:

longlegsinlapaz - 3-17-2010 at 08:54 PM

Mr. Dra. Bass you've got mail! See up there:rolleyes: in the corner?!:saint::lol:

bajabass - 3-17-2010 at 09:22 PM

Ah, the postperson always knocks twice:biggrin:

comitan - 3-19-2010 at 05:08 PM

Are there any updates on this ladies trip?

bajabass - 3-19-2010 at 08:31 PM

After 4 days of scouting job opps and possible dwellings, Mrs. Dra. Bajabass is full of optimism. Several places wanted doctors now, but it is still to early to commit. The help and guideance both before and during the recon mission from a couple Nomads was invaluable. Housing is a open book. From end to end the La Paz area is full of options. The next step will be a air-based invasion by the one man bajabass strike force. I gotta see it for myself, SOON! Oh, road update, La Paz to Santa Rosalia, clear of problems. She is probably at the El Morro in SR.
