I found myself scratching my head in bemusement recently when threads were started denoting the passing of both Peter Graves and Willie Davis.
Couldn't figure where the connection was with Mexico or Baja. Sadly, Fess Parker has passed away. In my opinion, Parker touched more lives and
accomplished more than either Graves or Davis. Moreover, he hosted past Mexican presidents, and had a fleeting connection with the Mexican wine
industry. But most of all, he portrayed a famous character who was one of the first known illegal immigrants on Mexican soil.
I met him at a friends house about 45 years ago. A nice man.

Davy Crockett. One of my early TV heroes.
AND, a hero in later life because he peeed off so many people in Santa Barbara building his resorts.

When I visited BCS in 1961, one of the songs the mariachis played was a tune called, if I remember correctly, "Pancho Lopez," sung to the tune of The
Ballad of Davey Crockett from the Disney show. Sung in Spanish.
You can find an English version on YouTube, by Lalo Guerrero. It's really bad.
